The Pocono Record posted what they feel are the best TV shows of any genre, and to my surprise, GSN’s “Playmania” made that list at number 6. They cite that the main attraction right now is host Mel Peachey, originally from England. To quote, they say she is “the best British import since Bass Ale. Jump on her bandwagon while it’s still in the station.” I have to agree. “Playmania” is one of the channel’s best original shows they do, and Mel Peachey really stands out hosting. She’s absolutely terrific and extremely beautiful as well. Hopefully she moves on to bigger and better things as time goes on.

Peachey’s lack of knowledge about American things is grating to me.
I orginally came from England to the USA (7 years ago) and at first found it odd to have a lot of, say brand names or slang terms replacing ones that I was used to. I dont blame her, people like me kind of relate to her, although that probably accounts for like a percent of the population, so I do see where you are coming from. She will get the hang of it soon, It probably dosent help that she went back to the UK for christmas.
I thought the show was compelling when I first got digital cable last year, but after I realized how they lied on-air, manipulated the audience, and realized just how ditzy the hosts were, I stopped watching it. I started to feel myself losing brain cells.
Hey check out Mel Peachey’s Official site and chat room. You heard about us on Playmania now check us out, Thanks.

Personally, I think that Mel Peachey is the best host of any show out there. She’s pretty, good-natured, witty, and keeps the viewer engaged in whatever she’s doing. I actually like the British terminology that she uses. I think it’s interesting to learn about other cultures. I’ve even adopted some of the British words or phrases she uses like “jim-jams” (pajamas) and “ice lollies” (popsicles). I can’t really understand why her using British terms would bug anybody. I mean, really, who cares? People who are bothered by this are entirely too sensitive and have way too much time on their hands. Although I prefered Mel in the PlayMania format, she does great with what she has to work with on “100 Winners.” I don’t really enjoy the new show, but Mel is so engaging that I just have to watch it sometimes.
