Photo Gallery for ABC’s “Downfall”
Less than a week until ABC debuts the newest million dollar quiz show Downfall. You can see it Tuesday, June 22nd, at 9:00PM ET. The show can’t be more simple. Answer trivia questions against a clock to save prizes (and yourself) from literally falling off the edge of a skyscraper. It looks fun, terrifying, tense, entertaining, and hysterical. In other words it looks like anything you could really ask for a game show. ABC loaded up their press site with some pictures from the show so you can see what you’re in for.
One thing is the money chain. The money will progress $5,000 to $10,000 to $25,000 to $50,000 to $100,000 to $250,000 and then the top prize of $1,000,000. You can also check out what appears to be a category board. The haven’t released the full rules of Downfall but it looks to be Skyscraper Outburst for $1,000,000 and that works for me. What do we think? We’ll have video soon.

I don’t know if im going to be able to watch a show that destroy prizes are they real or props? This reminds me of that distraction game show round where you have so many seconds to answer the questions or they blow up the prizes. it was painful watching it. I don’t think this show will be a hit
and what happens if it rains? during taping?
The show’s page on ABC says the prizes being thrown over the side are “fabricated facsimiles” – i.e. props. How else do you throw a trip to Paris over the side of a skyscraper?
One thing that does bug me about the show is the “Surrender a Personal Possession” lifeline. The whole idea of risking a personal possession being destroyed has been used on shows before, and every time I find it to be a dumb idea. First, any sane contestant is obviously going to pick whatever is the least valuable thing they can risk within the rules. Second, what’s to stop a contestant from picking up some cheap breakable crap from a thrift store and pretending it’s a priceless family heirloom?
On the positive side, though, the set looks quite nice.
Gene, they are props. Also the show is pre-taped, not live, so rain isn’t an issue.
Those pictures show the first time I have seen Chris Jericho smiling in months.
Ha! You’re right!
It’s only a matter of time before we have a show where the losing contestants are killed on the air.
Can’t wait for the show Chris will be great and what a sexy smile .
It was a great show tbh, even with lots of controversial stuff cause of the destruction of the goods, I liked it thou. Jericho is a very charming host, I am sure his life after wrestling definitely lays in hosting shows like these. :)
BTW, anyone got those pics that are not in HQ below then article maybe in HQ? I’m a freetime graphic designer and planning some kind of DVD with all of the episodes on there and it also needs a cover.
