OWN Casts For New $100,000 Game Show, “Are You Normal, America?”
Oprah Winfrey’s cable television network OWN is already getting into the inexpensive and popular world of game shows. It was previously announced that Harpo Studios is producing the new game show Are You Normal, America? for the struggling cable network. It’s a new light hearted panel discussion show where we find out what people view as normal behavior, and what’s not. The show is currently casting contestants and you’re in luck if you’ve wanted to be on a big money game show: there’s a top prize of $100,000 available to win.
Click here to visit a casting notice on Craigslist, or here for Reality Wanted. Casting producers are looking for contestants 21 and over and whose occupation is something other than “actor”, which is nice. Your team has to solve riddles and work as a team to win big money and try to figure out what people view as normal. Does this sound like you? Apply now and be sure to tell them you heard about this from BuzzerBlog.

OWN is struggling? That’s a surprise to me. I would’ve thought it was performing half-decently, considering that Oprah herself had a part in creating the channel.
I am not too surprised to hear that OWN is going down the tubes. I don’t see this show working at all. But I will wait until I see a full episode to cast judgement.
I’ll check it out. The network is struggling but shows like The Rosie Show and Oprah’s Next Chapter seem to be holding their own.
Just a heads up, they’re also taking applicants for a panel, who vote on what’s normal, and the contestants have to predict their choices. No word on if that’s the entire format or just one round, and the panelist ads don’t mention anything about riddles. My guess is the panel phase is just one part of a more varied format.
