There are moments on this site where I question if I should even tell you about some news or if I should let you be happy and unaware. There’s no huge news yet today, so I get to torture you! There are many things NBC could do to make Deal or No Deal worse in the upcoming months, like offering a few ponies, Howie Mandel as a model in a dress, or just giving away a million dollars with no real work.
Wait, that last one is happening, again! Reader Bill R. sent me a video of the Ellen DeGeneres show where she subbed as a Deal or No Deal suitcase model; number four to be exact. This episode should air in early January. Howie does announce on it that the current contestant is in the middle of a show where there is a “Million Dollar Mission”, and she is playing with a pair of million dollar cases. Yes, it’s coming back. Shield your eyes and hide the children. The god-awful Million Dollar Mission returns.
You can catch a video of it here, just scroll to 3:30 and ignore all the introductory scripted crap. Might want to turn the volume down out of respect for the mentally unstable, as news of the Million Dollar Mission might cause mania. It almost made me throw my computer against my wall.

It seems to me that they’re trying the always destined to fail idea of putting celebs. on the show among other half-assed stunts.

Poor Howie. I bet he’s wondering “What have I gotten myself into?”

On the bright side it seems like DoND is the only show doing this, for now.
So it seems the show has not given up on the Million Dollar Mission. We may see a winner afetr all, but still………Yeeesh!

You and I might dislike the MDM stunt, but Ellen made me ROTFLMAO!

I don’t even give two craps. I quit watching DOND starting at last season’s finale. It’s gotten so fake since the beginning, the whole show might as well be scripted. I mean, it takes them EIGHT FRIGGIN’ HOURS to film one hour’s worth of “useable” footage. One major reason that I love game shows is for the genuine spontenaity (sp?) of everything. On DOND, everything seems canned. DOND used to be an exciting, well-presented show, but now, it’s so loaded down with gimmicks that it’s unbearable to watch.

Yay for Ellen, but the MDM?! Please, make it go away…if I have to see another person find out that they dealed for (insert amount less than $300,000 here) and have a million in their case…I will officially lose my mind.

As much of a game show fan as I am, I have only four words to say about DoND US…KILL IT! KILL IT!

The more I hear about DoND, the more I pray that the syndicated version will be like the UK version. Let’s get back to the basics…before lime green vehicles and celebrity models and the now-obligatory one-offer-of-the-show being exactly what the contestant wants, has said they were there for, only to immediately yell “NO DEAL!”.
