“Nothing But the Truth” Canceled in Columbia

Just remember as you read this: FOX wouldn’t pick up Without Prejudice? because they thought asking people questions and getting their opinions on things was too racy. The home country of FOX’s new game show The Moment of Truth, Columbia, has canceled the shows after a contestant wanted $25,000 so badly that she admitted to putting a hit on her husband. The contestant said, “The crime couldn’t be carried out because the hit man tipped off my husband and he ran away forever — God save me.”

Howard Shultz, who is bringing the program to America, was quoted as saying “We’re very careful about the questions we ask and would never sanction any criminal behavior.” The Columbian version has also asked about drug smuggling, homosexual prostitution, and more. Can we honestly believe that the US version won’t pull out something like this? It’s FOX, so I’m just planning on it.

But hey, at least it’s hosted by Mark L. Walberg. That’s a huge plus. It’s just a shame such a great talent can’t get a decent show ever.

Well, being in the broadcast industry myself, there’s a certain philosophy I have regarding things of this matter, with respect to intelligent programming decisions by the network that cancelled Greed, and brought to a suffering public some of the worst “game shows” in tv history. It’s based on a theory developed by Freud, and expounded on by Dr. Joyce Brothers. It can be boiled down to in just two words…

    Fox sux.

Hey, Russian Roulette was great! I’d rather it have it on now than any thing else GSN is producing.

In terms of game shows, yes Fox Sucks (until further notice)! But, the thing is, Fox is still the home of House M.D., 24, and American Idol, et al. I think most would agree that when an episode of those shows come on, you can’t pry us away from the T.V.

CBS, NBC, (Heck maybe even ABC starting with Duel) are doing a much better job for the most part with Primetime games right now.

Yesa, but I was speaking only in terms of game shows. :)
