Noel Edmonds Hosts Primetime UK “Fifth Grader”

A bit ago, it was announced that British channel Sky One purchased Are You Smarter than a Fifth Grader?, now titled Are You Smarter Than a 10-Year-Old for them, for a daytime and primetime run. It has now been confirmed that Deal or No Deal host Noel Edmonds will take the lead of this show. The top prize is £250,000.

One minor note of annoyance: BBC News is yet another place that says this show pits adults against kids. We said that in press releases for while as well in America. Let’s as least get the format right, people. People who auditioned poorly for the show face off against themselves for a prize they don’t deserve.

I’m glad a British redneck (does that even exist?) isn’t hosting.

  • David Howell says:

Our chosen low-class stereotype (at least of the last few years) is ‘chav’, usually referring to young people who often are involved in low-level crime and spend their money on cheap booze and certain designer clothes.

Oh hello, it is for £250k. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/6688121.stm

  • Greg says:

Maybe they should come to our show in the US. Just think, the biggest redneck of them all [Foxworthy] meets a couple of “chavs” who are “going down to Liverpool to do nothing”. It might not look pretty, but it could boost ratings.
