No, “Millionaire” is Not off of GSN’s Schedule

During the break, a bit of a panic came about apparently, as I scan my gigantic inbox.  We uploaded some GSN schedules for you before our break and the dozens of emails say that the syndicated version of Who Wants to be a Millionaire?, starring Meredith Vieira, was off the schedule.  There were some gaps in the PDFs where it does go.  However, we checked with GSN today about what’s going on.

What we’re being told is that episodic information for the episodes is being gathered, mainly episode numbers at that stuff, and then added in.  It’s not gone.  It’s just being processed.  So the craziness can end.  Plus it would be hugely disappointing if it was gone.  I still think Meredith is exponentially better than Regis, but whatever.  It’s not gone and that’s all that matters.  Schedules will be updated soon.

While I don’t agree with you that Meredith is the better host (Regis will always be the best at what he does), I love the syndicated version of Millionaire, and I, too, was concerned when I didn’t see it on GSN’s schedule. I hope they continue to air the syndicated show for a long time. I have never seen many of the early episodes because they were not aired in my area, and now I’m watching them all.

There never will be another show quite like “Millionaire.” The music, the energy, the drama, and the million dollar top prize all make for one magic television formula. It’s a shame “Super Millionaire” never got another run, because I think it was just about the best twelve episodes of television I’ve ever seen.

The show is on WGN in Chicaago and some English woman is on what is going on?
