Nine Network in Australia Picks Up “Power of 10″
Hey, a great US game show is being imported again! Hot off the trails of the summer success of CBS’s Power of 10, Australian network Nine is the first channel to announce its pick up for new original episodes. The show will debut in 2008 and is set to start polling thousands of Australians on many hot button issues. No word if the top prize will stick at $10,000,000.

Channel Nine won’t offer $10 Million. Given the maximum prize on offer on Aussie TV was $2 Million (Deal or No Deal), I suspect the top prize will be $1 Million.
Since it will air on Channel Nine, they should call it “Power of Nine” and multiply by 9…

* $729,000 question: 10% range
* $6,561,000 question: Exact guess from the previous question (see below)
Yeah, that would sort of make sense.
You just made me laugh so very hard.
I wouldn’t rule out a $10m prize just to scare Seven and the other networks, especially as we know it might never be given away. That said, if there’s one country where someone will risk $900,000 on a one-in-11 shot at an additional $9,000,000, it’s Australia.
They could just scale it down by the power of 10–start at $100 and finish at $1,000,000.
Who knows how this will play out? Those down under will just have to wait and see.
