Nickelodeon Premieres New Game Show This Month
So, I was randomly searching YouTube, and I found this.
To me, it looks like a combination of Remote Control and The Cube. It also looks more tailored to kids, but that’s probably because it’s a Nickelodeon show. Here’s a few example games.
BrainSurge premieres Monday, September 28th at 4:30pm ET.

This makes me long for the days of Legends of The Hidden Temple. This guy has nothing on Kirk Fogg & Dee Bradley Baker *sigh* The new Guts wasn't that bad they should do another season of that
^Why would you compare the host of Brainsurge to them ? Judging by what I've seen of Brainsurge so far, "Legends" was a harder show to host and therefore anyone they got for Brainsurge would more than likely appear to be worse than Kirk Fogg. Also they did tape a second season of My Family's Got Guts last year so that should air anytime now…
Anyways don't know if you guys knew it or not but Brainsurge's concept is taken from a Japanese Game show called "Brain Survivor" (which was originally the working title of Brainsurge). Here's a video of it:

As you can see, the contestants are sitting down in the same layout as the contestants in Brainsurge are and the screen is in the same position.
I was thinking the same thing, except this is Korean, not Japanese. And it kinda also reminded me of the Spanish show "Gente de Mente"…
This looks promising.
For one thing, that's Korean. For another, I don't even think that's a game show. And, aside from the fact that there's a big screen behind sitting people, I don't see the resemblance at all!
I'm sorry… it is Korean… it's just that when I originally heard about the show back in February and googled it it linked me to a description of a show called "Brain Survivor" on TBS (Tokyo Broadcasting System) so I went on youtube to look for it and that's what I found. Here's the description of it according to TBS:
"Brain survivor is the ultimate test of perception and memory. The studio contestants are bombarded with challenges and have very little time to answer. Each round involves different challenges and the elimination of competitors. The longer the game goes on, the more difficult it becomes. To win requires concentration, great skill and the ability to perform under intense pressure. Who will be the nextc.BRAIN SURVIVOR?"

I guess Korea had it's own version of the show too but yeah… Brainsurge is definitely based on this show.
I'm so exciting this show is FINALLY getting on the air. I interned at Stone & Co. (who did Legends of the Hidden Temple, for all you nostalgia addicts) when this was in the last stages of development. I couldn't make any of the tapings sadly. The games themselves work a lot like "Brain Age," the video game for DS or Wii.
It is…the clip Bgamer provided didn't show any actual game play, though. I don't exactly remember what the game involved…
Actually the part about repeating the light pattern on the floor comes from an Australian game show called "Time Masters."
They did air season 2 of GUTS in Australia just not here in the USA yet
I am so so on how this is gonna be. If its good, maybe they’ll think about making more game shows for Nick. Maybe even get some shows redone (GUTS being My Family’s Got GUTS and Double getting Double Dare 2000) maybe we can get a Legends of the Hidden Temple or another Double Dare. Let’s just see and pray.
Wow! It certainly puts Get The Picture to shame there. I always thought the light pattern thing was something out of Gamecube's Mario Party 7 where a character has to step on the right tiles to light up or else the tile breaks & the character falls through it.
Putting it on at 4:30 PM will certainly conflict with DoND on WFMZ-TV in Allentown. I'll give it a shot come September 28
I remember that show, but the exits on here remind me more of the exits on MTV's REMOTE CONTROL, when the losing contestants were yanked "OFF THE AIR"
it looks? like a remake of Think Fast
It looks like the Nintendo games Brain Age and WarioWare mixed together in a gameshow. It looks like a hit for Nick. . .way to go!
Reminds me of a game show in Japan called Hippocampus. It would have two teams of celebrities and they would have to remember things from a video (including on segment focused on being an eye witness of a murder).
