News Flashes: Rich Fields Video, “Trust Me”, and “Poker” Ratings
I’ve got a few news flashes for you today.
*A few weeks ago we talked about ABC picking up a new Mark Burnett pilot Trust Me, I’m A Game Show Host. The show involves two hosts talking about something, with one being truthful and the other lying. The contestants have to figure out which one is trying to trick the other. It looks like that’s going to tape its pilot soon. Craigslist posts are going up for a new Mark Burnett game show that fits the description perfectly. As with everything else it’s based out of Los Angeles, so if you’re in the area and want a shot at big money, click here to participate. It looks to be a really interesting and different show if nothing else.
*GSN released some High Stakes Poker ratings information. I guess the ratings went up from the reportedly relatively weak debut. Compared to the first six episodes from the last season, it’s up 27% in the adults 18-49 demographic. It also saw a 25% increase in adults 25-54 and a 29% jump in men 25-54. It’s practically the only show the network has which gets any younger viewers or critical acclaim or much of anything positive these days, so nice to see it doing well.
*Remember the first “Rich Fields Gone Wild” video posted a few months back? A second one has finally appeared. It features everyone’s favorite cartoon mayor Adam West. Watch the video below and let us know what you think.

^_^ In my opinion, not as good as the first, but still hilarious nonetheless.
@Ryan_Z: I absolutely agree with you one hundred percent!!!!! It was funny, but Lou Farigano did awesome in the first one!!!!!!
High Stakes Poker got picked up by Rogers Sportsnet here in Canada BTW.
Funny video there.. Adam West can be very strange sometimes.. look at him on Family Guy and The Fairly OddParents..
Sorry if this is "grossly off-topic" (your words from the comment policy), but since this was the most recent entry involving The Price is Right, I felt like I should comment on this one…
I tried to watch TPIR today before my TV crapped out on me, and I just barely noticed that Temptation has a new set! You made a blog entry when Most Expensive underwent a set change (even though that one happened on the Valentine's Day special); maybe you should comment on this one. If you get a chance, that is. No rush. ^^;

Ehhh…the video's trying, but not too funny for me.

GSN trying to spin the numbers on High Stakes Poker is a joke. Comparing this season to the low rated season 5 may look good, but the numbers are so far below the prior 4 seasons that they can't call this season a success. Well they can, but they'd be lying. That once proud show has gone in the tank along with the rest of GSN's original efforts. What's 27% of nothing?
