News Flashes: Ratings, “The Cube” UK, and “Password” on GSN
Nothing big going down recently, but we’ve got a few small news flashes for you.
*Ratings for the week ending May 16th are in. The show that had the best week was Family Feud. Even this late in the season the show moved up 7% to a 1.6 rating. This is the season high. Great job by them. It’s actually beating Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader? by a decent amount. Fifth Grader lost a big 13%, down to a 1.3. But again they’ve been out of original episodes for so long I’m frankly amazed ratings are at that level. Yet again ratings for Deal or No Deal aren’t listed, and given the pattern recently the less said the better.
The rest of the shows did OK. Who Wants to be a Millionaire was frozen at a 2.2. That’s still the season low. Millionaire is ending its “You’re in the Hot Seat” home competition this week, so check out their website to see if you’re a winner. Jeopardy! grew a decent 4% to a 5.6. Finally, Wheel of Fortune went up 5% to reach 6.5.
*Quick alert for the British readers: The Cube is getting ready to tape its newest series of episodes. You can check out one of the most exciting game shows of the decade live in Middlesex and find out if someone can finally beat The Cube and take home the £250,000 top prize. *We’ve recently updated GSN’s schedules. Million Dollar Password will indeed be makings its network debut in June as we Tweeted about earlier. The Regis Philbin hosted game show will begin Sunday, June 6th, at 9:00PM ET. The first episode will see William Shatner play against Aisha Tyler. And if you don’t remember that episode from when it aired originally, you’re in for a real treat from Shatner, and I mean that as sarcastically as possible. Interesting GSN will move their poker nights from Sunday to Saturday and will debut a new poker series, Aussie Millions, then as well. That starts Saturday, June 5th, at 9:00PM ET.

Any updates for us about the US Version of "The Cube"?
That's interesting that GSN is moving their poker schedule to Saturday, but it's nice that Password will finally debut.
I'm thinking if CBS is gonna do it, it will be around the time the UK version wraps their taping, that way the crew is already there and on schedule.
I'd really like to know. I don't think it's on the Fall 2010 schedule for CBS as far as I know, so maybe Summer 2011?
Glad to be seeing Million Dollar Password finally.
But I do question moving Poker Night to Saturday. Sunday Night Poker has been a consistent winner for so long… did something happen to the ratings?
OBOY get to see Password again
