News Flashes: Ratings, Previews of “The Price is Right”, and Travel’s “Scream”

Very busy day around here, but there are a few smaller stories we can discuss today.

*We were very interested in the ratings for ABC’s newest competition game show Take The Money and Run.  The good news is that it didn’t do too badly.  It scored 5.14 million viewers in a 1.9/5 rating in the demo.  Good news is that it retained 95% of lead-in Wipeout‘s audience.  It could have been better, but it’ll do for now.  It didn’t have the greatest lead-in possible.  The night’s other game offering, It’s Worth What?, continued to lose viewers.  It sunk to 4.78 million viewers.   By the way, in highlights from syndicated ratings, Family Feud is still on its season high 2.7.

*It was previously announced that Larry Emdur, the host of the former Australian version of The Price is Right, will be joining host Drew Carey on set to host a game.  Some video previews were posted by Seven.  Take a look below.  It gives you a great look at the updated set and new monitor.  Everything looks great.

*A few months ago we exclusively announced Travel was picking up the British game show Scream If You Know the Answer and taping episodes in California.  The network is, very quietly, debuting the series.  Scream starts tonight at 7:00PM ET on Travel.  It’s basically Cash Cab but on a roller coaster.

Man that was an amazing video lets get Larry to host a episode of usa price is right

  • George S. says:

Damn! George and Drew might want to watch out he could replace them in a heartbeat! Especially his “Come on Down!” with a little growl in there, I wouldn’t mind hearing that 9 times a day.

  • Mr.Quiz says:

I haven’t seen the show for a while, although I was aware that George Gray was the (currrent) announcer. Judging by this clip….not bad! As for Larry Emdur, why NOT give him a shot? Drew Carey is OK, but, IMO, he never really had the right demeanor to be a game show emcee (and, for the record, I’m NOT trying to compare him to Barker, whom -sorry- I was never a big fan of, anyway).

  • Eric says:

I have a way better idea! Larry needs his version of TPiR back…give him a way better set than the last one, and send all the contestants of America school of TPiR and i could defiantly see the show being such a big hit…i have to agree tho i think Larry would be a way better host than Drew…I love Drew but Larry IMO would do the whole series proud. hey maybe the US version would start begin shown on Australian cable if it did very cool idea

  • Anderson DelValle says:

Just saw an ad for the Australian census when starting the second clip. I think we should have an ad like that here in the U.S. for our census as well; it was a pretty badass ad.

And, oh yes, Larry Emdur rocks!

  • John says:

Love the new set! New LED scoreboard for showcase showdown. Remastered yodel track, Yodely guy now computer controlled.

    • Brandon W. says:

Do you mean the Showcase Showdown Wheel’s scoreboard, or the Final Showcase Round podiums (which were upgraded in 2009)?

  • Andrew says:

Bet “Cossie” must feel jealous that he didn’t get to go to America with Larry…
