News Flashes for Sunday, March 20th
Hey, everyone. Hope you had a nice weekend. I took some time off, but we’re back and we’ve got a few small stories and interesting things to show you today.
*Broadway fans will want to watch The Price is Right on April 5th. Constantine Maroulis, from the show Rock of Ages, will appear on the show. He will help present the Ultimate Rocker Showcase which includes prizes like tickets to see the show he stars in in New York and even a walk-on role on the show. In other special show news, Price will be taping a special Mother’s Day episode on Tuesday, April 19th.
*That’s not all the special features coming to Price, though. The Home Viewer Showcase was a big success and they are starting a new “Prize of the Week” giveaway. Starting Monday, March 21st, log on to the show’s website and enter the actual retail price of the item Drew reveals on the show. The final bid that comes closest without going over will win.
*Fans of The Cube: get ready to be excited. The commercially and critically acclaimed British game show will return to ITV on Sunday, April 3rd, according to our good friends at Bother’s Bar. We’ll keep you posted on any updates.
*We’ve got some new game show home games this week. Who Wants to be a Millionaire launches their new Facebook game on Monday. See if you are the smartest of your friends. Click here to get ready to play. Minute to Win It also launched an iPhone app. You can play along with some of your favorite games from the show. Click here to download it.
*Speaking of Millionaire, the Dutch version has returned after a long absence. The show, called Weekend Lotto Miljonairs, is an interesting mix of the US and UK version. Contestants are now selected from the audience after a pre-screening test. The show uses the British format, including the 12 step money tree, clock, and Switch the Question after successfully answering the level 7 milestone worth 25,000 euro. However, the show uses the American on screen graphics package, while using the British music and opening. It’s still a great show to watch. You can check out an episode by clicking here.
*ABC’s version of the British quiz show 101 Ways to Leave a Game Show is still casting. Click here to check it out and get involved. You can win up to $50,000. Just be smart, in Los Angeles, and don’t be afraid of heights.

You told Broadway fans to take note, and it’s Constantine? That’s like asking Star Trek fans to take note and then it’s an actor who said one line on TNG. At the very least you would want Idol fans to take note.
I don’t see the American graphics… It looks more like some weird mix of last season’s graphics and the Millionaire Hot Seat graphics… Unless those are taken from Super Millionaire or something.
I see it, mostly in the question graphics. Very resembling to the old Clock version.
The Millionaire game on Facebook is now live. You can find it at http://apps.facebook.com/playmillionaire/
OK, So the UK is getting another season of the Cube. Now, let me ask WHEN WILL IT BE OUR TURN?
Maybe when Minute to Win It is cancelled and CBS finally decides to put a primetime game show on their evening programming schedule…
I can see some people stil can’t accept those who participated on American Idol. Prejudice? Constantine was there, yes, but he is also on Broadway and was even nominated for a Tony. Right now he is a very hot name thanks to his role in Rock of Ages. Americal Ido is past. Broadway is his present. So, this article is right to call Broadway fans to show up.
The Dutch Millionaire graphics are taken from the Indian version, Kaun Banega Crorepati.
