New “Price is Right” Host Audition: Mike Richards

No, it’s not Michael Richards from Seinfeld. It’s some guy named Mike Richards who will be auditioning to be the newest host of “The Price is Right” on February 28th. He was apparently the host of that reality show “Beauty and the Geek” though. I’ve never seen it, but if you have, maybe you know how this will turn out because I sure don’t. I’ve seen “Beauty and the Geek” a few times, with both hosts. While I can’t say that they are bad hosts, I just don’t think TPIR is the type of show for them. Both hosts have more of a “Reality Show Host” personality.

Didn’t Mike Richards host Starcade in the first season on TBS, before its splash in syndication with Geoff Edwards??

Having the “Kramer” Michael Richards hosting the show would be hilarious.(Especially if you put together his infamous comedy standup meltdown into the mix.)

Just got a check at Richards’ IMDB page a few minutes ago. He has some game show experience — working as a producer on both the NBC and syndie versions of *Weakest Link*.

One interesting thing to note about Richards — his bio suggests he is a protege of Dick Clark, working with him on bloopers and New Year’s Eve specials, and producing Clark’s *View*-esque chat show *The Other Half*.
