The hardcore poker craze may have died down a bit but its after effects are still being found. We’ve already got NBC’s Face the Ace going once a month in the worst scheduling decision I’ve ever seen in my life, but I digress. There’s a new one coming and it’s giving you a shot at big money. Shuffle Up and Deal is the name of the show, which comes from professional poker players.
The game is very simple. Shuffle Up and Deal pits five amateur poker players against each other, competing to build the best hand possible, from cards picked from an oversized electronic poker board. The player with the most money at the end of the show has a chance to win up to $1,000,000 on a single hand. Creator Dewey Oates says, “I think this game show will be the next generation of televised poker.”
Details about network deal and more are coming soon, but the show is on its way and is looking for contestants. You don’t have to be a poker pro to play. You just need to know the basics and compete against four other amateur players. There’s a million bucks on the line so if you know the basic rules of the game there’s no reason not to be interested. Click here to email the show and casting directors. Tell them we sent you. You can also visit the show’s website and stay connected to see what’s going on. Can’t wait to see what goes on with it; looks pretty interesting.

I don't normally watch poker shows (in fact, I find them boring most of the time), but I might check this one out. It seems like an interesting concept.

The main game sounds like an old show called "Super Pay Cards".

I didn't know "Shuffle up and deal" was common poker parlance; I associate it with the lamentably canceled "Celebrity Poker Showdown." I hate these poker shows, but for some reason the celebrities playing dining-room-table poker (as opposed to the stupid psych-out staring contests) roped me in.
Important point missing here and on the show's website for those interested in becoming contestants. Since the production company's area code is 626, they are located in sunny Pasadena, California.

Is it just me, but doesn't it sound a little like "Super Pay Cards" just a little bit. Picking cards from an electronic poker board, reaks of SPC.

Well the same can be said about "Super Pay Cards", reeking of Concentration.
Shuffle Up is a different beast altogether

According to the press release on Facebook, the jackpot starts at $250,000, and increases $10,000 for each day that it's not won.
I think you take home your front game winnings to.
