The new syndicated season of Who Wants to be a Millionaire? is coming around pretty quickly (mid September), and Disney-ABC/Valleycrest Productions are gearing up for the first batch of tapings and debut. First thing is first, quite a few travel audition dates are scheduled; quite a bit more than I remember in recent times. Sorry for the short notice for the first, but at least our California friends get a chance to get involved easily again.

Finally, a few new themed weeks are coming in addition to Netflix Million Dollar Movie Week and Wedding Week. First comes Famous Names Week, where people who have the same name as a famous person get a chance in the hot seat. Hint: if your name happens to also be Meredith Vieira and you’re reading this, you’re basically guaranteed a chance if you pass the test. Next is Halloween Week, where obviously questions deal with Halloween. The catch is you have to go to auditions dressed in a Halloween costume, so make an ass out of yourself for a chance at a million. Finally, and this one is a bit weird, it’s 3 Generations Week, where I believe for the first time a team of three enter the hot seat. It has to be three people all from different generations; IE grandparent, parent, and kids. Children as young as 12 are able to try out for this. Click here to look at all of these.
