There is a huge difference between preempting daytime game shows on a daily basis 20+ years ago and two episodes of Deal or No Deal in the middle of summer when nobody’s watching. I think you’re overreacting just a smidgen.

You don’t get it. NBC is the most strictest of networks when it comes to pre-emptions. I learned that a long time ago when KYW was owned by Group W, they pre-empted NBC game shows every day it seemed and the Peacock Network wanted out, so they bought WCAU when CBS agreed to change affiliates (and ultimately buy out the Eye network).

A. Cleveland got to see Cliff Lee become the first pitcher in the majors to win 20 games this season. Lee is the first Indian to win 20 games in a season since Gaylord Perry in 1974. It was an historic game. And in this game, Lee didn’t need the assistance of extra top prizes on the board like Deal. ;-)

B. I went to a Best Buy in the suburbs of Cleveland this afternoon. It did have TiVos and VCRs in stock. Thus, people in Cleveland who want to see Deal or No Deal can set their recording devices of choice.

Cleveland will get the show, but at 3:05 AM on Tuesday morning. WKYC has always been good about showing preempted shows.

Looks like those in Cleveland won’t be viewing the $1 million show Monday (9/1). they’re pre-empting it for an Indians baseball game. NBC execs are fuming.

I couldn’t even tell which models were back or not! Come on..But I can forgive that because most of everything else was better than the show has been perhaps throughout all of S3.

She could have won the million and then it wouldn’t matter if she made it or not.

She could make more than $525,000 in her career.

She could make more than $41,000, enough money to cover the fact that the offer was $20,500 above the mean (when the $7K is added to each possible result), thus justifying her gamble.

She may not even make anything, but she could also have won the million AND made it on Broadway. The most she could lose out of this decision is $518,000, and what she could win out of this decision to go all the way has no upper limit!

Even if she makes nothing out of this deal, she still loses $141,000 less than the “definitive” blindsided contestant (Marybeth – $659,000), who can never be beaten in idiot status, regardless of loss!

There are so many different backups that Koshka had here, and with that, you do indeed have solid reason to continue.

What I want to ask – why did the supporters reverse their suggestion to Deal in round 9, when they told her to go all the way as late as round 7? They knew at that point that the seventh offer, round 8, its offer, round 9, and ITS offer had to be played through in order to go all the way – all without a safety net! So they can’t just back up and tell her Deal in the middle of the excursion!

I’m going to disagree and say she was actually a very smart contestant. Dreams are more important than money, especially when you get a once in a lifetime offer like the one she got. There was no doubt in my mind I would have gone all the way in that situation, you saw how talented she was at the beginning of the show, who knows, this could work out for her and she’d make more money on Broadway in a couple years than she would have taking the deal, and she’d have a hell of a lot of fun doing it. I thoroughly enjoyed watching the game, and if the games get better from here, this is going to be a really fun season to watch.

I have two words for you:
EPIC FAIL.
This woman goes down in history as one of DoND’s biggest idiots. The $530,000 offer screamed “Deal!”, but she let her stupid dream blindside the hell out of her. Not smart. Plus, it didn’t help that she was your typical DoND contestant – loud, obnoxious, and bloody annoying. Hopefully this upcoming millionaire will make this craptacular 4th season debut moot. Oddly enough, last season began with a craptacular beginning as well. Let’s hope this pattern doesn’t continue…

Yeah, saw the season premiere, too bad for her. But, it was a good game, in spite of the result. Still, might be a good season, if the first show was an indication.

The set looks awesome, the daytime version should be good, too.

So our first contestant of this season and went all the way. And unfortunately it didnt work out for her.

Next week according to the new commericals that aired after the show next week on Labor Day, we’ll finally have our first millionaire on DOND.

Overall it was a great show and it made me look even more forward to the new Daytime DOND.

Its one of NBC’s best programs. Why couldnt they make it a network Daytime show, instead of a sydnicated program, i have no idea. But when it comes, its gonna bring new competition to the old favorite, The Price is Right.
