Well, now they're throwing DoND up on THURSDAY nights at 8:00 -- up against Lost and Survivor.

Those ratings numbers will be quite interesting but I still just don't grasp the King Kong vs. Godzilla approach to scheduling shows. Is knocking other networks' shows down all that important -- even at the expense of what might be bigger ratings on some other night?

Both correct Mike (I think it was around this time last year when it happened, but not 100% sure). Those are the "complications" I said ABC would encounter in bringing Super Millionaire back. Then again, it was not wise, in my book, for them to let their rights to it lapse in the first place...

On that note, what would be stopping another network like CBS, with Regis in toe, or "GSNBC" from picking up the rights to such? Don't tell me none of them want it or none of them can "afford it"... :-/

There is only one problem with your argument, wheelloon--I don't think CBS would be too happy to see Regis emcee Super Millionaire right now, with Million Dollar Password coming up soon. Also, didn't ABC's rights to a network version of (Super) Millionaire lapse in the last 12-18 months?

I like DOND but I agree they drag it out way too long. I think in a two hour episode there ought to be at least 3 to 4 contestants playing. One contestant per hour to me is insane. I like when there is at least one contestant and at least half way or better through the second contestant. I can see a pace of a gameshow starting slow when it first starts out to get people into it and to understand the rules more but we are in season 3 of Deal. I think deal needs to pick up the pace and I would be all for getting rid of the supporters and maybe i sound cocky here but i feel I could make my own decision if i was a contestant on Deal. I am a huge deal fan love the game the models and think Howie does a great job of hosting but to me the two hour epsiodes all the time will kill it. I could see a two hour episode for say a winner takes all edition again maybe but not every week. I hope NBC reads this if you start doing the two hours episodes of Deal have 3 to 4 contestants in the two hours. As for Amensia I am not sure what i will think of this although I am somewhat of a sucker for lightheart moments on gameshows. I don't personally care to watch a bunch of teenagers thinking they can be good parents i could care less about that. I like the gameshows Deal, 1 VS 100 which I think hasn't been exposed enough and am not sure about Dennis Miller gameshow hosting because I didn't see Grandslam so i can't really judge his hosting. I think that a gameshow though on friday night at 9/8 central would be great. I personally would like to see instead of a two hour episode of Deal here is what I'm thinking Deal on Mondays at 9/8 central, Wed at 8/7 central and then have 1 VS 100 on Tuesday at 9/8 central and Friday at 8/7 central ( why 1 VS 100 is a fun trivia show that deserves better ratings and is a fun show I didn't think i would like the every ten but for some reason i actually do enjoy it also I think that if Deal can be on twice or three times a week although at least it's not on 4 times a week like WWTBAM was then 1 vs 100 should be on twice a week at least til the writer's strike is over. Last schedule idea Amne$ia on fridays at 9/8 central. speaking of gameshows making it to the air then some of mine that i've came up with but haven't gotten to pitch yet should be on the air then.

*Sigh*

If NBC is trying to fill slots with a post WGA strike, then what logic is there TO NOT SHOW A FRIGGIN TAPED NON-SCRIPTED SOLIDLY SUCCESSFUL SHOW LIKE THE 1vs100! That's 1 hour more of time they can fill, and 1 hour closer to making it to the end of the strike. Unbelievable. The same applies for any unaired DoND's, even if overexposure has gotten the best of it. Don't throw away work you've already done when it can be put to use, it doesn't take an Astrophysicist to figure that out, I assure you...

On this note, though I know the complications, if I was ABC, there would be nothing, absolutely zippo, from me getting Super Millionaire back on the schedule. We have: established name, established host, established format, solid primetime potential, and we haven't heard one word? Genius, got some genius minds there...

There are many opportunities for original, unique, non-copied shows out there that can be used at a time like this. Why aren't they being jumped on? I don't wanna watch a ripoff of another show, where I can watch something similar later in the week, when a completely original format is on the air one channel up, and I can assure you I'm not alone in that sentiment.

Use your brains people.

As for Dennis Miller, I saw potential for him as a host when watching Grand Slam, but he definitely was lacking then. I can compare it much to how I viewed Greenberg on Duel: Solid credentials with potential later on, but currently needing work and needing it now, not later.

OMG Dennis Miller as host of Amnesia. That sounds horrifying. I can't understand why producers insist on putting him as host of anything. (e.g. Monday Night Football) He is not funny and he isn't even remotely entertaining. I don't even think his stand-up is that great. Terrible choice. And the fact that NBC is even considering doing this show is shame. Doesn't this sound Who Wants to be a Millionaire? - Greedesc?

Speaking of Millionaire....I think one reason why the show didn't do well after a while in primetime (in addition to all the celebrities) was the fact it played too often. 4 times a week was horrifying. I feel the same way about DorND. 2 hours! I wouldn't dare watch the show for two hours. Two hours of watch Howie drag out the entire episode with probably two contestants! No thanks! NBC is going to ruin a good thing. I can see it happening.

I only watched TMOF to see Mark L. Wahlberg host again--and I knew I wouldnt like the premise of the show. Now NBC is doing a couple of things I HATE:
copying a what seems to be a successful show
and

HOST: DENNIS MILLER? I thought he was the ONLY thing bad about Grand Slam--and a host to me is very important! Just for that I definitely wont be watching it.

Adam,

What's with the witch hunt against Deal or No Deal? You've said you want the FCC to investigate Deal or No Deal TWICE in the last 15 hours. Just because you don't like a 2-hour game show is not a reason to make a federal case. If you don't like it, turn the channel.
