NBC Projected to Sign Up For New Singing Game Show

Mediaguardian is reporting that NBC is projected to sign on to a new UK format in which contestants have to sing partial song lyrics in a singing sort of spelling bee. Right now the show is being called Singing Bee or Sing in the Blank. British television station ITV has been said to pick the format up without even having a formal pilot done. Instead, it will air as a 90-minute broadcast pilot on ITV later this year. Not much is known beyond the fact that contestants will have to sing partial song lyrics and it is projected to have 28 contestants. This format is created by Phil Gurin who is currently attached to Lingo on GSN as well as the ABC pilot Wanna Bet? NBC has no set pilot date as of yet, as it is just projected by Mediaguardian that they will pick it up.
