I think Zap2It said it best when it’s not too late for NBC to change their name to “Game Show Network” since the cable network does not go by that anymore. As of now, Craigslist is reporting that NBC has picked up “Child’s Play” and is still looking for kids to participate. So, are you 6-9, reading this site somehow, and don’t want to be paid for being on a TV set for what will most likely be a five hour taping for one episode? Click below. So let’s see. NBC has “Child’s Play” coming and it has been said that Reveille is making “Identity”, which is still casting as well, for them. Their schedule is literally going to be all game shows very soon, and I’m not so sure that’s a good thing.

Keep in mind that NBC is looking for programming this summer. The only fresh programming they have for Summer 2007 is *Last Comic Standing 5*.
*Treasure Hunters* and *Windfall* aren’t coming back, and *America’s Got Talent* has been “promoted”, so to say. So you have at least three spots open for slots on the summer schedule.
The *Grease* reality show will likely get one of the slots, unless NBC gives it a spring run. The Peacock also announced a “real-life” *Wedding Crashers* series with Ashton Kutcher a while back, but I haven’t heard a thing about it in some time. Nevertheless, that may also get a summer slot.
You’re now left with at least 1 slot for the summer. Perhaps NBC will experiment with a night of game shows?

Did you catch an episode of Heist, Kidnapped, Joey, Friday Night Lights, or The Law Firm? Going for a bunch of game shows surely isn’t going to hurt the quality of their programming…

I’ve posted here before, saying that you can’t trust Craigslist to be right when a show casting lists a network affiliation. UNLESS you have NBC saying ‘We’ve Bought Childs Play’, don’t trust an overzealous contestant coordinator/booker who’s posting a free ad.

Hence why it is under rumor control.

“Hence why it is under rumor control.”
Even though you’re speculating on how it will be taped. For a blog about game shows, you sure do like to piss and moan about the amount of them that could be on the landscape.

True; it has a fine-text tag of “rumor control”, but why is it then that you say “Click it if you want **proof** that it’s going to NBC as well”?

What do you think the chances are that NBC is looking to bring Game Shows back to daytime with all these shows in the works?
Just a thought..:-)

Whoops, I didn’t mean to leave that in there. That’s before I rewrote the article a bit after remembering the entire Craigslist thing, my mistake. And just because I write about game shows doesn’t mean I have to like them all. NBC is going really overboard, and if Child’s Play is a success, I will be 100% shocked. NBC needs a mix, and they seem to go for any game show available now. A movie critic doesn’t have to like every movie. I don’t have to like every show, and from what I’ve seen of the original version of Child’s Play, it looks like it blows.

it was an alright show although I think that if NBC wants to revive a show how about any of these shows
Jackpot
High Rollers
Hollywood Squares
Concentration
Sale Of The Century
Super Password (maybe call it Extreme Password)
Card Sharks
Hot Potato
SuperMatch2007

High Rollers would sound really good. After the trinwreck of 2001, i think we won’t see a Card Sharks revival. Sale will be revived, ut iwill be on NotMyNetworkTV. I think H2 lost its momentum after it has gone off air in 2004. Also, Iwould like NBC (or anyo ther of the three major broadcast networks to revive:
Blockbusters
Bullseye
Tic Tac Dough
Russian Roulette
Now You See It
Scrabble
It will be intersting to see the fate of Child’s play in the future.
