Posted by Alex Davis as 1 vs. 100, Deal or No Deal, NBC, Schedule Change
This week will be a bit weird for NBC’s game shows. “Deal or No Deal” will not be on tonight. Instead will be what is, in my opinion, the best new drama on television and one of the few to care about, “Heroes”. “Deal” will air on Wednesday, January 3rd, at 9PM ET. “1 vs. 100″ will still be on Friday, January 5th. An additional new “Deal or No Deal” has been scheduled for Sunday, January 7th, at 7PM ET. “Deal” returns on Mondays, starting January 8th, at 8PM ET as well as being on Wednesdays at 9PM ET. “1 vs. 100″ stays on Fridays at 8PM ET with an additional episode on Sunday, January 14th at 7PM ET. Confused yet? If not, you’re better than I am.

NBC better take it easy with the time slot chnages, that’s what killed Millionaire, Greed, cancelled family guy for 3 years, Match game, and many more.

I would say it’s reasonable to try different slots and see what works, especially in light of changing competition (for instance, Tuesday 8/7c in the fall season is winnable. In spring it’s instant death and you may as well put a rerun on in that slot).
This is probably going beyond reasonable though. It might have been better to give it a January break and then come back with a big-money week in February sweeps.

(For Deal, that is. 1 vs 100 could be just kept where it is as far as I’m concerned)

I guess next week’s additional airing is to ‘make up’ for the fact that there was one episode this week. (Or something.) Not that I mind. It’s probably due to the fact that the college bowl games are airing tonight and NBC doesn’t want to compete with those.
Besides, ‘Heroes’ is a cool show.
I hope ‘Deal’ only goes 2 nights. 3 is a bit much, IMHO.
Good 1 vs 100 is back though.

I applaud NBC for putting Deal on Mon and Wed. I think that leaving 1 vs 100 on fridays is great and hope it remains there. if deal went back to three a week then I think that would cause a great burnout and i dont want this show to get burned out. I am surprised there isn’t a dvd game of 1 vs 100. Also I applaud NBC for putting Friday Night Lights on Wed and trying it there because i happen to like that show too along with Heroes.

This better be just a temporary thing. Sounds like NBC is trying to put as many game shows as possible thinking this isn’t overkill. I really don’t mind it for this month, but they better not do Deal or 100 three times a week. Twice a week is fine. Once a week is better.
Putting 1 vs. 100 on a special Sunday edition next weekend would make sense since Apprentice starts this weekend and theres Apprentice winners and a ‘desperate loser’ in the mob.
