Talks of Rosie O’Donnell hosting a game show aren’t done yet. New NBC programming chief Ben Silverman, who was an executive on the now-canceled Identity, wants Rosie and will do anything to do it. He doesn’t just want her on daytime, though. Silverman has said he is talking to O’Donnell about doing a primetime game show he is working on as well as a daytime bitching session like The View. And for now, that’s all the information is out there.

God help game show fans…
I know a good game show for her, Friend or Foe!
If you can muster the heart to say Rosie’s a friend, you’ll get our jackpot of $1,000,000! BUT, if you say she’s a Foe you’ll get an hourlong screaming tyrade and be called a homophobe at least 17 times by show’s end, definitely an enthralling thing to watch, when you’re not on the receiving end.

I think we are a long way off before we find out what Rosie O’Donnell’s future lies.
Since she left *The View,* I have heard so many rumors regarding O’Donnell that it makes my head spin. She’s either taking the TPiR time slot on CBS, replacing Letterman when he retires, getting a talk show on NBC (replacing either Days of Our Lives or the 4th hour of Today), hosting a latenight talk show on FOX, hosting a pay-cable talk show (HBO, Showtime) or hosting a syndie chat show.
At this point, I expect O’Donnell to take at least several months off. She has an autobiography coming out, and she’ll spend some time promoting that. If/when she opts to return to TV, I think we’ll probably hear something around October or November.

I can see the Sinclair Broadcasting wannabes clearing this one…not.

There is one show I won’t watch - never thought I wouldn’t watch a game show of any kind, but aparently, I have found one.

Get Arsenio Hall (hit me with the digits!) who was withdrawn from the planned syndicated Deal or No Deal to host The Singing Bee!

You know, if Rosie would stay off the soapbox, and not try to give away the whole budget, she’d make a competent host. When Hollywood Squares first returned, she hosted a round and did quite well. However, as a “square”, she would shake her head “no” every time she bluffed. That got very annoying.

As to Arsenio hosting the Bee, you are a freaking genius Darryl! Brandon pretty much summed up for me, the current “view” on Rosie, so why repeat it.

After what Alex just said about her, I think I’m starting to like Rosie O’Donnell…

I think a friend or foe like show would be perfect for rosie but Syndicated Deal Or No Deal please no. I have never hosted a gameshow and I feel I would be a better host than rosie for syndicated Deal Or No Deal but really to host syndicated Deal Or No Deal there are a few names that pop out in my head not sure what anyone would think of them. I think even though he’s never hosted a gameshow I think that Will Smith would be an interesting choice to host Deal Or No Deal. He seems to have that charisma and I think he would be an interesting choice for Deal Or NO Deal if it weren’t me. I would also even vote for although she is doing Millionaire I would even vote for Meredith Viera. She does a great job on Millionaire and i think she would be another candidate for Deal Or NO Deal but please no Rosie O Donnell for deal or no deal. If rosie is to host a gameshow let me be like a Weakest Link like or friend or foe.

I don’t think Rosie’s meant to host a game show. She’s just too wild. I think this whole trouble started with her arguement with Donald Trump.

No, Greg. It started when she ambushed Tom Selleck on her talk show over gun control.

It’s bad enough that Dennis Miller will be hosting a game show (GSN’s new “Grand Slam” later this summer). He was way out of his element on “Monday NIght Football.”
The notion of Rosie O’Donnell might’ve played several years ago, when she was wearing her “Queen of Nice” image like a Medal of Honor; if it were up to me, I wouldn’t even consider her to host “Bowling For Dollars.”

Maybe for the 2007-2008 Who Wants to Be a Millionaire syndicated season Rosie ‘O Donnell could be a guest host for a week filling Merideth Vierra’s shoes.

How about Jerry Springer for a daytime DoND? I can picture him saying the words now, and hopefully by the time it’s out “America’s Got Talent” will be dead and gone. What a crap-fest that is. It’d be just as good if everyone in the studio just stood up and yelled “DRAMA” the whole show.

Jerry Springer on DOND? I can just here it now… “JERRY! JERRY! JERRY! JERRY! JERRY! JERRY! JERRY!” over and over again. Then, Springer might make the mistake of thinking that this show is an extension of his talk show (truly trash TV).
Maury might make a good host, though. At least he doesn’t encourage fights like Jerry does. Just look at what he did to 21.

Good lord, the last time a guy named Silverman was in charge of NBC programming, the network became a trainwreck(remember “Supertrain”? “The Man from Atlantis”? “Here’s Boomer”? and, who can forget “Hello, Larry”?…well, we can…). Let’s hope history does not
repeat itself. (Me, I’m gonna see the “Whose Line?” gang tonight if I can
find the auditorium.)

Springer did UK Greed, would you believe. Apparently he did OK, I didn’t watch it. The fact the format practically required some very big risk-takers to make it compelling - and the contestant coordinators didn’t find that many - probably counted against it. Most people took the shared £50k at question 4 (the full prize tree was 5k/10k/25k/50k/100k/250k/500k/1m). I must say I don’t blame them.
