Finally, some actual content for Nick’s new revival My Family’s Got Guts. As you can see, if you remember the old set at all, the new one basically looks the same. It just has some neon lighting and huge monitors which seems to be the general trend in shows. But it looks really nice. And yes, it is still the Extreme Arena. Also, the new referee and co host is Asha Kuerten whose only real credit looks to be on some movie called Offing Dave. Pictures below. Is anyone else more excited than they should be for the age they are about this? Hopefully it’s not just me.

I just want to know if we can still go to Mo for the scores :)

Asha has done a lot of TV work in Australia (ironically, a lot of it has been for the Disney Channel..)
Only thing that worries me is they only have 5 different events listed right now…If they follow the old shows’ format, 4 of them will be used each show (other than the Crag of course..) Still, the set looks nice..

The set looks nice, but it seems like all of the pictures were taken by one person standing at the exact same corner of the set, just using their zoom for a few pictures. And for reasons I can’t explain, this genuinely bothers me.
No Moira Quirk? Sad… Her website seems to be out-of-date, so it’s hard to know exactly what she’s doing now, but I’d be willing to guess she’s either working the comedy circuit or staying home with her kid(s?), or both.

This is one of the few shows this season that I’m excited about and the set looks good so far. Just as long as they don’t go over the top in production and or cheese it up too much this will be a big hit. I defiantly can’t wait for the season premiere.

They definitely did a nice upgrade to the original Extreme Arena. I like the water tower they put in too. A friend of mine who works on the new show said the Crag is so large that it had to be in its own soundstage.

My Family’s got GUTS looks to be a huge hit for Nickelodeon/Nick @ Nite. The new Extreme Arena looks really nice. I’m looking forward to my Family’s got GUTS. DO YOU HAVE IT!

All I want to know is whether or not winning contestants will receive the Glowing Green Rock trophy if they win. That was one of the many game show props I wanted as a kid. (Others include the Double Dare podium, the $5000 + One Spin slide from Press Your Luck, the face-off podium from the Combs-era Family Feud, the $5000 space from Plinko, the $5000 space from Wheel of Fortune, and the gargantuan neon display from the bonus round of Super Password.)

The set looks great. Though, I wonder if Mike O’Malley will be tapped for “My Family’s Got The Picture”.

Its really nice to now this shows. Looks like they got the Extreme Arena just right for 2008. I will definetly be watching, because I think a revival of GUTS is way overdue.

So how many episodes do you think it will take before we see celebrity families taking over the show??

It might be just me, or how the pictures were taken, but the set looks incredibly small.

I’m waiting on “My Family Makes the Grade and Thinks Fast” myself. I’m sure Robb Edward Morris and Skip Lackey aren’t busy these days.

I thought the same thing GSK, the set does look pretty small. Hopefully thats just half (even a quarter) the size of the set. I heard the Agro Crag is pretty big though.

I went to part of the filming for this show in Orlando while at Univeral and Disney this summer. The set is as small as it looks but there is a whole separate room for the Craig that I never got to see. It was interesting because it took about 2 1/2 hours just to film two 10 minute segmants for two different shows. I would have had to stay just as long to see the Agro Craig segmant. It was fun to be part of the audience but the show is definately more exciting when they spruce it up on tv. It’s awesome to see how they film it and be a part of the action though. The lighting effects are awesome!
