More Previews of “Let’s Make A Deal”
CBS’s daytime game show Let’s Make A Deal has been using its YouTube page extensively this summer as they prepare for the season debut soon. Watching the clips is making me get very excited about the new season. We’re basically seeing bloopers, but we get to see some of the new features. The set got an upgrade which looks incredible. New pre-recorded and live music has been added, and given the improvisational nature of the current version the live music is a smart addition. But we also get a look into some of the games.
For one thing, the prizes have been dramatically increased it seems. Host Wayne Brady is attempting to bribe people with thousands as opposed to hundreds when it started. We’re seeing bigger trips, prizes, and cars. We’ve seen lots of new games which we’ve already gone over. But more than anything we’re seeing the dynamic between Wayne and co-hosts Jonathan Mangum and Tiffany Coyne. You rarely see a combination as great as this. Honestly, when is the last time you saw three people blend together so well in a show? They’re all funny, they all get involved, and they all play off each other. It’s nearly impossible to get a trio as good as these three on TV right now.
Check out the third season debut of Let’s Make A Deal Monday, September 19th, on CBS. Check your local listings. It can vary between 10:00AM ET and 2:00PM ET, I’ve noticed.

This is awesome. Every bit of it. One of my favorite aspects of a game show is spontaneity, and ever since Deal or No Deal and its endless cavalcade of rip-offs came about, this has been missing from most game shows. This is why LMAD is such an awesome show- it doesn’t pretend to be some over-produced major event of a show. It’s just a game show. That’s all it needs to be. While there is much planning to be done to make a great episode, the hosts are still free to take what the moment gives them and go with it without fear of it being edited out so the producers can drag out a reveal of what’s behind curtain #2 with 20 or 30 seconds of nothing.
Gotta love it when Wayne Brady sings. Like the chocolate, he makes me melt :D
Personally, I think Wayne looked better with his hair. I know he’s going for the Steve Harvey and Cedric look though.
I second that!
Are you really sure that Cedric’s bald? We never see him without a hat on. Never!
Nice to hear they’ve upped the ante. The higher stakes, bribes included, are much needed going forward.
And you’re right, the cast does work well together.
Yeah, they needed to offer the contestant more that $500, glad too see they upping the anti, makes it more interesting. How about HD? They need to do that too.
