Just a quickie about “National Bingo Night.” The show will take place in the “Bingo Plex Arena,” which features a two-story tumbler. Also, the format looks to be VERY similar to 1 vs 100: one person will be pitted against the audience. If the player gets a BINGO before the audience, he or she wins the money. If ONE person in the audience gets BINGO first, the audience wins the money. More information is available on the ABC webpage.
Looks like ABC has some big balls on their hands.

*yawn* Really, come on now. The idea’s lame on *paper*… thank goodness it’s just for four months.

The concept does sound dull as dishwater, but the big draw will be the interactive element. I remember many years ago here in Phoenix, a local station did a show called Jackpot Bingo. It was extremely popular, to say the least. I think ABC just might have a surprise hit on their hands.

From the network that brought you “My Kind of Town” and “Show Me The Money” comes a show, with more luck than “Deal or No Deal” and a host as popular as the one on “1 vs 100″
its….. NATIONAL BINGO NIGHT!

Just like Cosmic said, the element of interactivity and the fact that you can literally play this game, and WIN, right from your home while the show airs could be huge. Why on Earth would you NOT take advantage of that opportunity?!

Could be a sleeper, in like how the “Great American Dream Vote” seems to be doing

Sorry,Chris…the Dream Vote just got cancelled after two shows.
I only see this thing lasting a month- before ABC decides running movies all night wasn’t so bad.
Still, if that happens, it could be a golden op for TBN. The preception of EXtreme Bingo for old-foggies and lame teens/Xers might go better for that network. Plus, (with the set around built) they could just give away prizes and LOW levels of cash-just like they do at your local church.

to me the odds are stacked against the 1 player because the odds are someone from the audience will get a bingo. the great american dream vote deserves to be on longer and even though I like bingo I think this show on a friday is a bad idea but I could be surprised because there is the play along factor at home from printing out card at abc.com .

I smell cancel all over this. As long as 1 vs 100 returns in the fall, that’s all I care about.

I went to a casting and I think I”m in the running to be an onstage contestant. The only problem is that I know NOTHING about how this game will work. It’s starting to sound like there is no advantage to being on the show, when I could do the same thing at home on my couch ? Makes no sense.

Since I work in the Bingo Industry, of course I think it’s a GREAT idea! The Ohio Smoking Laws and other states that we are in, have decided against smoking, so the business has been effected. Hope this is a positive approach for those who have been PERSONALLY effected by laws that people directly or indirectly have been touched by.
