Ben Silverman is a moron. Plain and simple. He puts very little support behind possibly the brightest, smartest, and well-put together Thursday nights in years, He has an overt reliance on the lowest of the low reality shows, and cancelled shows that performed well but either asked for too many episodes too soon (Singing bee) buried them in slots that no one could find (1 vs. 100) or gave them little support-if any (Journeyman, Scrubs).

Wunderkind? Hardly.

NBC, which is owned by GE has their own slogan: “Lack of imagination at work.”

i don’t if NBC reads this but if they do please Stop telling us what’s coming up next on Deal. As for 1 VS 100 that show deserves to come back. it always won it’s timeslot or finished second which is pretty good. i personally think that NBC should have put 1 VS 100 on at 7:00 fridays and then Deal Or No Deal after it. I predict only one new show to be a hit this year and I think it will be Knight Rider. NBC going from 1st to 4th means to me that NBC needs a change.

I can tell you one network that has it worse than NBC.

ABC. The second round of “Duel” should have been cancelled, mostly because the first two episodes were aginst TPiR’s Million Dollar Spectacular, and the third round of same series should have never been aired, and the same should have been done with “High School Musical: Get in the Picture” (at least move that to Disney Channel, where it rightfully belongs with that other tween girl crap) and “Wanna Bet?” Those shows were all losing to telenovelas on freaking Univision! “Wipeout” is lucky to be an MXC/Takeshi’s Castle ripoff IMHO, and if I was Tokyo Broadcasting System, I’d sue Emendol for copyright infringement. I did like “I Survived a Japanese Game Show” however. I just hope even though it was against “America’s Got Talent”, it should get a second series.

Somehow I bet NBC already knows the winner of the NFL game tonight and they will play a promo before the game letting us know… I’m just kidding but i’m sure you understand my point… At least the 7:00PM (in Dayton, OH) Deal or No Deal (airing on my local FOX station) starting on Monday will not have spoilers (gosh I hope not).

I read the article about NBC’s troubles, I knew things were bad over there, but not THIS bad! Anyway, their Fall lineup stinks compared to CBS, FOX, and ABC. Those Networks have much better and more original shows (and game shows) than NBC now. Also, why the hell would NBC air this show during Labor day weekend, and not during the ACTUAL start of the Fall season, when it really counts? Oy.

I’m telling you right now, other than Sunday Night Football (including SBXLIII), a returning 1 vs. 100 (I hope), or maybe if the network picks up Family Trust, or Trade Up, or any other new game show in development, I’m not going to be watching NBC.

Anyway, let’s put this behind us and look forward to what we hope will be a great year for game shows, and TV in general, and more LEGIT $1,000,000 wins as well, okay?

I might get a tear in my eye if I hear 1vs100 is assuredly returning. The show was so underrated *even in the 2nd season*, and is an original concept of which there is nothing comparable on American game shows right now. I’ll throw out my “unlikely but ideal” notion/idea about NBC trying 21 again, but… :-/

As for Mr. Silverman possibly being let go, that’s been a balloon just waiting to bust. When a network, ten years ago, was #1, and in less than 10 years has dropped to number 4, you know something’s fishy. New blood should hopefully mean some new, fresh ideas that might help to get NBC out of the ratings hole. The worst that it could bring would just be a continuation of the same ole…

I’m glad to see somebody else hoping against hope that we see 1 vs 100 again. The show did not get big, big ratings, but won its timeslot (a lousy one at that)most of the time until TPIR came along.

What do you think the odds really are, or do you think it’s gone forever?

I’m so glad they didn’t spoil all these shows when my favorite comedy shows were on NBC. I could just see:

“Tonight, on the series finale of Seinfeld: The characters go to JAIL.

Then, on the series finale of Friends: Chandler and Monica have twins, and Ross and Rachel get back together.

Then on our movie night: The Sixth Sense! Bruce Willis is actually dead.

Be sure to watch our Thursday Night Line Up. For what reason, I don’t know why. We already told you what happened.”
