Actually, the animation is the same as the Australian version, and on that version, they say that "It's time to face the hole" as well.

I'm almost surprised nobody has mentioned that the logo for the show was MADE for a fly-through like every other show uses these days, and they just cut the scene from the animation to the show.

You don't get it. The reason why I made a list is because I want to be a producer one of these days and I don't want to create over produced garbage like this. Americans in general in this current culture try WAY too hard to be cool. If they just imported the show the way it was,it would have been satisfactory (Although still a one trick pony).

The hundreds of people in the audience, the screaming and yelling, the reactions both from the crowd and Mark makes it feel fake. The only ones that sort of look like they are actually having fun are the contestants (rightfully so) although that at times feels forced. If the the producers of the show thought this was such a great concept to make in to a single show why do they have to add all these elements? Also if they were so confident about this show why do they have to pay people in the audience to scream and yell. It makes no sense and from the other comments I see I know I'm not the only one that feels this way.

I'm not taking it too seriously. It's people trying to get through a styrofoam wall, for heaven's sake. Going through your little checklist tells me you're taking it too seriously.

And looking at the show thus far, it's pretty even.

With all due respect and no offense but you're the one that's taking this too seriously Mike because the Japanese version of this is

1) They are not as uptight. They are all celebrities who are not high on caffine like the contestants are here in America. As they don't do those cheesy entrences like they do outside of Japan.

2) "Human Tetris"....excuse me "Hole In The Wall" is not the center of attention in the Japanese version of this show. As a matter of fact it's a segment that last less than twenty minutes because the producers over there know that if that made that segment in to a show it would be a one trick pony.

3) The set is more colorful and intresting to look at than it is here. How come any piece of crap game show that gets imported gets the emo treatment. It always has to be dark WAY overly dramtic and predictable. When "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire" first came to the scene in America we fell in love with that idea but now it's become a crutch and every game show that has come along looks like that and it's so boring.

4) The Producers there don't use any tricks, they let the game stand out as it is. Here in America they pay the audience to Scream, they make the Announcer scream "It's time to face the hole" which sounds completly raunchy and gets out quick, They pick conestants that have A.D.D. and whatever other tricks other than just using the game as the focus.

5) The teams were evenly matched. In Japan the split up the teams so that there were no unfair advantages unlike here.....“Beer Bellies vs. 6-packs” OH GOD!!!

6) They don't give away money. It's just a bunch of celebrities cheesing it up and having "fun" in Japan but here it's like life and death. Had the producers actualy gone the non serious route this would have been more intresting to watch but the way it stands it's too serious, too over-the-top and annoying.

You're taking Hole in the Wall way too seriously, Shon. It's not supposed to be a battle of brains or even of physical endurance. People are going to get stuck in styrofoam, fall into a cold pool, or in some rare cases, break through the styrofoam. The last method might give the 6-Packs a small hidden advantage.

I have thoroughly enjoyed the 3 Aussie eps. which have aired thus far. Here's hoping ours are as good or better.

I looked on my dish menu to see what the primeire is going to be about.

It is titled "Beer Bellies vs. 6-packs"

"Three beer loving couch potatoes compete against a physically fit trio"

Now C'mon! This isn't even a fair match considering that in order to win this game you have to be sort of fit. What a joke!

Either way I see a big train wreck coming. I'll tune in but I'm not expecting much.

I kept hoping Fox was joking about this....but....dear Lord, will people actually watch this thing for more than 10 seconds?

I mean...oh, ha ha, look, someone fell into the water. How long can that possibly be interesting?

No meaningful skill, no knowledge, just silly contorting over and over.

Yikes

Yeah, why isn't anyone reviving Joker's Wild? Should be last half of Pat Finn version (Categories, definitions, three prizes across the board in endgame, three Jokers win jackpot). It'd be a damn sight better than this...

Something tells me "It's time to face the hole" won't be as memorable to us game show fans as "Come on over and face the devil".
