Monty Hall’s Dealing Again

This week has been an especially fun one on Let’s Make a Deal. Monty Hall is back, dealing out one game in each episode (Don’t worry if you missed him; he’ll be on again on Friday’s show at some point). Wednesday’s episode, especially, was a blast, as apparently something that never happened in all of Let’s Make a Deal’s history finally happened, and with Monty, no less!

Oh, don't think that I am taking away Monty's abilities to think on his feet. But, remember, he is a consultant to the show that he licensed. He does not make decisions (but he is, no doubt, INCREDIBLY influential). But Monty is not the producer like he was before. If Fremantle didn't want to give away the car on a double-zonk, he would have to abide by that, no matter how "it used to be done."

Whether its a 1/8 chance or a 1/105 chance — it has all been played out in the conference room long before the studio.

That was a great week of LMAD. I'm too young to have experienced the Monty Hall days, but i definitely saw why he was so legendary.

Was watching Wed. with my 11-y-o daughter, who has inherited our love of game shows. After the double-Zonk win she turned to me and said, “Monty Hall is just puuuuuure magic.” What a great moment for a legendary host!
