Monty Hall Returns to “Let’s Make A Deal” March 22nd
All classic fans of Let’s Make A Deal be alert. We previously said that Monty Hall was returning to the show. CBS gave us a date. The original host, Monty Hall, will be returning to Let’s Make A Deal for a full week starting March 22nd. Monty was the original host and creator in 1963 and hosted through 1986. He again hosted in 1990 and made a guest appearance on the ill-fated 2003 NBC remake. This makes the sixth decade for Monty hosting the show. He will host one game each show along with current host Wayne Brady.
So are we excited to see this? He’s still a pro. I talked to him a bit at the Game Show Awards, which was a giant thrill. I’ve not heard a single bad thing about him. I got emails from people auditioning to host about being unbelievably excited to meet him and how great he is, and I can see why. Like Bob Eubanks on Newlywed Game, Monty is the true pro of Let’s Make A Deal. Wayne is a great host, though, and it’ll be great to see these two act together. Here’s some of Monty at his best.
The current group behind Deal has done a great job keeping the classic vibe in the current version, when you look back to the old ones.

Talk about a birthday present! I grew up watching the reruns of Monty Hall’s version on Game Show Network (I’ve known it as that since it started, I don’t like calling it GSN), and I believe when he returns for the March 22 ep it’s gonna be a hilarious ep.
One game a day??? How about the whole show!!
Since I've never seen the Monty Hall version of LMAD in my life (the closest I ever got was Ricki Lake in 2006), it'll be interesting for me to see how this special episode turns out! :D

Except for having never used price-based games and inexplicably using only one person for the Big Deal, the show is awesome. No sarcasm here — it really is that good.
Unlike on the 2003 version, you won't see Monty outshine the host by leaps and bounds. Wayne is just as good a host as Monty is. I can see these being very entertaining episodes, and can't wait to see them.

It's nice that Monty's comming back to LMaD. Even if it's only one game a day, it's better than nothing at all. Let's enjoy it while he's alive. We may never get another chance after next week to see him.
I wish CBS would move the episodes back a week. That way, my sister can celebrate her birthday with ol' Monty(March 30). Oh well.

To have the co-creator and original host of LMAD back on the air, in a format that is worthy of his participation, is pure gold, even for a game a day. Anyone in the business can tell you what a class act Monty is. His professional and charitable pursuits, and stellar reputation, extend far beyond LMAD. He learned about protecting his "baby" the hard way when he entrusted it to NBC again with Billy Bush. I imagine he is very proud of Wayne Brady and the current version.
I can tell you that the first show on March 22nd is great. I was at the taping in January and was so lucky to be at the first one with Monty and Wayne. I was shocked when the producers told us Monty would be there, I couldn't believe it. It really made the trip worth while!

It's because Fremantle's afraid Monty's lost some of it.

Brady is a total shlub. LMAD is probably my all time favorite game show but I won’t watch it with Brady. Seeing Monty Hall again only reminded me why- Hall is an all-time great, Brady is an all-time yutz.
I’m glad to see Monty Hall back, Wayne is ok but lets face it, Monty is an icon and virtually the “face” of Lets Make a Deal. Life was so much better back in those days….
