“Minute to Win It” Game Previews

NBC recently released some clips of various games that will be played on their new game show Minute to Win It, debuting March 14th at 7:00PM ET.  Four of the games are below.  I really don’t know what to completely say, but I’m sure some of you will fill in the blanks.  The presentation of the games is so overblown in a bad way that it’s groan-worthy.  The bad thing is Guy Fieri does a really nice job.  He’s just stuck here.  Take a look at the clips below.  Again, despite the complaints, I still think the show will do fine for the first episode or two because of massive promotion.

Here's how I see it. If you're NBC, the best thing you can do is put this on Monday nights, against CBS' sitcoms. You don't want to put it on Tuesday or Wednesday, because it'll compete with Idol and nobody can defeat Idol. Thursdays are strictly out because CBS has Survivor. Saturdays are really good because there's nothing really good on that night. Sundays are iffy because of competition with The Amazing Race, EM:HE, and Desperate Housewives. Friday would also be a good time to air it.

To make a long story short; stick to Monday, Friday, or Saturday.

I actually like this. Noww if it doesn't compete DIRECTLY with The Cube, it will do fine..it's basically Millionaire meets Beat the Clock.

So this IS The Cube, then!

The biggest thing I fear, if and WHEN "The Cube" comes to CBS, is this question…if people see this show first, will "The Cube" look like a copycat of "Minute to Win It"? That's the only fear I have of "The Cube". "Minute" copied it SO much that it could seem like the other way around and I really hope that doesn't happen…

That's a good point, my friend. I mean, since The Cube was originally from England, than the CBS version is really a copy of the original. I can see how people might get confused with Minute To Win It being that it's basically a Cube clone in of itself. We'll see what happens.

Not gonna lie, looks like a lot of fun. I see a lot of good t.v. coming out of these various 60 second challenges

  • Robert says:

So we add Guy Fieri to the line of Bud Collyer, Jack Narz, Monty Hall and whoever it was that did that pretty bad syndie revival (Gary Kroeger? I forget) to the line of "Beat the Clock" hosts. Because that's all this show really is — Beat the Clock with much larger prizes. Not that thst is necessarily a bad thing, as BTC was pretty good back in the day.
