“Millionaire”‘s Tournament of Ten Day Three: Sam Murray
Day three of Who Wants to be a Millionaire‘s Tournament of Ten completed today and we’ve still yet to have anyone qualify to win the million dollars. Tony Westmoreland, the number nine seed, came into the Hot Seat today with $50,000. He was asked the following $1,000,000 question:
What great thinker’s death is attributed to a chill he caught while stuffing a chicken with snow for an experiment on refrigeration?
A: Pythagoras, B: Archimedes, C: Isaac Newton, D: Francis Bacon
Tony was unable to gamble $25,000 of his cash (a wrong answer dropped him to the $25,000 milestone) so he walked with his original $50,000 winning. The correct answer was D, which he thought it was. He was close, but just couldn’t pull the trigger. Maybe today’s number eight seed Sam Murray can.
Sam Murray is a bartender from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. His previous winnings total $50,000 so he’ll be risking $25,000 to answer as well. Will he be the first person to answer a million dollar question correctly? We know someone does so it could be. Find out today. Here’s a video Millionaire put out about Sam.

I have no inside info here, but I have a strange feeling that if more than one person gets his/her million $ question correct, it will be announced at the end of the tourney that -each- of them will win the million.
If they do this again, I suggest putting the top ten winners in the ring of fire, and each of them one at a time gets five questions, three lifelines, $25K minimum, and in Pyramid style, the first to get all five right wins the million.
There's no chance of that happening. They've said a hundred times over and before each person plays their question that if another player answers their question right, then they get knocked out of the game, and it's in the rules of the game. Can't change the rules after the tournament has started! :D
Just watched it. I can't say I saw what happened coming.
I assume this is a spoiler zone being the comments and all, but anyway,
SPOILER!:
Uhhh the only issue I had is I thought he said something about "going back to lifespans during biblical times" but "biblical" could have easily been something else since it was muttered. I guess he got it regardless!
HE FRIGGING GOT IT RIGHT!!! Now the only problem is…willl anybody in front of him get it right?
So now that we have someone that got the question right, will that make people more or less likely to guess? I wonder.
