“Millionaire” Tournament of Ten Day Five: Ralph Cambeis

Posted by Alex Davis On November - 13 - 2009

RalphCambeis2The fourth day of the Who Wants to be a Millionaire Tournament of Ten has passed.  Seed seven, Robin Schwartz, coming into the Hot Seat with $50,000, saw her one million dollar question:

Who delivered the less famous two-hour speech that preceded Abraham Lincoln’s two-minute Gettysburg Address?
A: Wendell Phillips, B: Daniel Webster, C: Robert G. Ingersoll, D: Edward Everett

She wasn’t sure and after a long and pretty intense thinking session she decided to not risk her money and potentially drop to $25,000.  She decided to walk.  The correct answer was D, Edward Everett.  This means the number seven seed, Sam Murray, is still in the frontrunner to win $1,000,000 on November 20th’s finale of the Tournament of Ten.  On Wednesday Sam answered his $1,000,000 question correctly, putting him in the lead and giving him the million dollar check.  The only thing that can take the check away from him is if one of the other remaining six seeds answers their question correctly.

Up to see if they can do it today is Ralph Cambeis.  Ralph is a retired bus driver from Staten Island.  He made a big impact last time he was on the show; incredibly memorable contestant.  Let’s see if he’s on his way to be the next millionaire.  ABC put this video about Ralph out.  Enjoy.

  1. Craig Said,

I was a bit nervous for a sec when Raloh wanted to pull the trigger on that painting question. I too thought it was the Last Supper. Because of that, Sam dodged a big bullet there. 2 down, 5 more to go. Bring on #5!
