“Millionaire”, “Feud”, “Hole in the Wall” and “Price” Get Updated Video Games from Ludia

Ludia, the company which has been making video games based on popular Fremantle Media game show titles the past few years, is coming out with four brand new, updated games.  It’s a variety of different areas of game shows so whether you’re a trivia, physical, or luck game fan there should be something for you.

*Who Wants to be a Millionaire is getting its first Super Mix-format console game.  The current format will be jumping to the Xbox courtesy of its new Kinect system.  You’ll be able to interact with the game with your body and your voice.   Millionaire features more than 2,500 questions and follows the rules of the current format.  The mixed up format will guarantee each game is different, and you’ll get to Ask the Audience and Jump the Question like real contestants.  The game will be released on November 1st exclusively for Kinect for Xbox 360. Click here to order the game.

*Family Feud has been experiencing a major explosion this year, and Ludia is bringing you more ways to play with Family Feud 2012.   You can play over 2,000 surveys in various game styles like challenge or party mode.  You can also unlock videos featuring popular host Steve Harvey depending how well you do.  Family Feud 2012 came out yesterday, October 18th, for Wii and Xbox 360 so pick if up if you haven’t yet.  Click here to order the game.

*Hole in the Wall, based on the Japanese YouTube clip more popularly known as Human Tetris, has seen great success recently.  It’s primetime Fox version was critically blasted and low rated, but it made a logical switch to Cartoon Network, where kids play it, and it’s been going strong ever since.  Hole in the Wall: Deluxe Edition features 800 different walls you and your friends can try to squeeze between.  The game utilizes Kinect for Xbox 360 better than most games, so if you’re looking for a fun party game this seems like a great one to try.  It comes out November 20th exclusively for Kinect for Xbox 360.  Click here to order the game.

*This year is the 40th anniversary for The Price is Right.  Ludia also created a The Price is Right: Decades game for the long running CBS game show.  This one will interest a lot of hardcore fans.  You can play through the various decades with the set going back all the way to 1971 and progressing through the 80s, 90s, and the look of today.  Games like Plinko and the wheel will look like they did back in the day.  Not only that, but retired pricing games which you’ve never had a chance to play until now are being included, like the long-forgotten Professor Price, which you can see by clicking here.  The reviews I’ve heard for the game have been incredibly good, so this looks to be a must-have for game show fans.  The Price is Right: Decades came out yesterday for Wii but if you can hold out until November 15th you can get it for the much better Xbox 360 with Kinect compatibility.  Order the game by clicking here.

Which of these are you looking forward to most?  I have a feeling I’ll be picking up Hole in the Wall. Sounds like a great party game.

Based on Amazon’s screenshots and the one in this article, it appears the Decades game will incorporate set elements from at least the late ’70s and early ’90s in addition to the current set. Fans of the original Eggcrate displays in Contestant’s Row or the 1986 primetime specials (with the “spotlight” door borders) may be mildly disappointed, though we haven’t seen everything yet…

  • The Banker's Nephew says:

The box art for the Family Feud 2012 shows lower parts the face-off podiums fused together, as opposed to being two separated. How hard is it to get something so basic right?

  • JB says:

every gameshow video game I’ve ever bought from Ludia I immediately regretted, most notably Amazing Race, which was total crap, and Millionaire for Wii, which they waited to release until Super Mix started last season. Sadly, they had the clock format version with phone a friend, which was well-outdated.

Good to know. I have a Kinect and was planning on getting Hole in the Wall eventually, but now I might as well wait for the sequel.

I’m really curious to see what advantages Kinect offers to Millionaire. There’s no need for the camera; will it have voice-activation? I’m guessing we’ll be able to play just by shouting out “A,” “B,” “C,” or “D,” and then “Final Answer,” which as simple as it seems, is a pretty cool idea.

I’m really surprised these are being released on disc. Especially Hole in the Wall — the first was a downloadable title.

  • Might get Millionaire when I get my Xbox this Christmas. Saw the screen shots on Ludia’s website and I am really impressed. Also congrats on 2,700 posts!!!!! Here’s to Buzzerblog going stronger for the next generation of game show fans.

  • LaJuan says:

Ludia games were pretty fun for me….on PC. I wonder if they will be released for that.

  • David says:

Hopefully the new Millionaire game will eventually get released for the Wii.

  • Chris Parsley says:

Since Im here at work, one other gameshow Xbox Kinect title came out today, and that is for the NBC (now cancelled) Minute to Win it. From the videos I’ve seen, it looks like it could actually be decent in play at home/party play, compared to the show itself :)

  • Hardy the Captain says:

Of the four, Price and Feud really stick out for me with Hole coming in at a very close third.

  • djcchs2004 says:

It was out yesterday?! Well that suck, I was at Walmart on the 18th & I didn’t see TPIR Decades or any other new games. But hopefully those games would be more fun to play once I get it for Christmas. I can’t wait.

  • Woodie B. says:

Looking at the picture for TPIR Decades, you could say that it resembles the summer of 1975, when the set got a facelift, with the set colors (of the turntable and doors) changing from green, brown, and yellow to green, red and orange. During the first couple of weeks with the new set, they still had the old yellow and orange curtains (used since 1972)–before they changed to red, green, yellow, and blue.

  • Emanuel says:

I’m mainly interested in Price and Feud, but I’m a bit hesitant about buying these games. Ludia has a history of doing the bare minimum and makes just enough changes to impress fanboys. I’m a Feud fan, but I was unimpressed with Feud Decades and pyramid was just plain awful so I passed on those. Ludia does the best job on Price so I’m not TOO worried about that one besides the lack of Rich Fields. Anyway, I just hope these are better and more like THQ’s Wheel and Jeopardy! Wii games (the DS versions are crap).

I would appreciate if someone else would put some gameplay of these new feud and price games (preferably Xbox versions) on youtube. There’s a fanatic fanboy on Youtube that buys any game show game and does historic 118 game runs, but I can’t deal with his SUPER annoying voice.

    • George S. says:

Well TPiR isn’t too bad, it definitely could’ve been better. Some of the rules for the pricing games were changed which you’ll see when you pick it up. They use still shots for the prizes instead of actual videos like they had done before. The sets themselves are pretty great but at the same time many of the graphics used in the game look like they could’ve been done by any fan. The game itself is ok but I think, as always, Ludia could do SOOOOO much better. Oh and they use like 3 different announcers in the game instead of picking one. Overall its just ok.

and I’ve seen the guy you’re talking about, there are several of them on there with annoying voices. It’s pretty difficult to do a search for a clip of Wheel of Fortune, or any game show, without someone posting a video of them playing a video game. It’s rather annoying.

  • Brandon W. says:

I bought Decades at Best Buy last week, and I must say, using the original prices from way back when does bring you back in time. Rules of each segment vary depending on the year you’re playing in. Hell, I even like the fact that $25,000 Plinko with the 80s color palette is used alongside the $50,000 version with the 90s colors.

  • Daniel B. says:

“Feud 2012″…oy. I saw a video of some gameplay, and the “host” was incredibly annoying.

“Price Decades”, on the other hand, I’ll probably get for 360. Hopefully, Ludia will remember to include Achievements.
