“Millionaire”, “Family Feud”, and “Deal or No Deal” Debut Today. What Did You Think?

I know it’s not airing in some markets because of a variety Labor Day televised events but today is the debut of new seasons of Who Wants to be a Millionaire, Family Feud, and Deal or No Deal.  Deal really has little change at all, but Millionaire has the new Tournament of 10 and Feud has the car and Bullseye.  I’m really curious as to what you all think.  You can place any comments about the shows in this box.  There may be some spoilers, so be careful to those who don’t want to read them.

You are correct, it was a continuation from "last" season. The three wins they had counted toward the five needed to win the car. (keep watching!!)

He should have a ton of fun. The WWE played the Feud…they were GREAT. Check our YouTube channel for clips. http://www.youtube.com/familyfeud

  • Jay says:

The first episode of DOND was pretty much bad news for the contestant. He kept gambling with the "NO DEAL!"'s. It bit him at the end of the show. His last two cases were $300…and the penny. He dealed out for $100 but had the $300 in his possession. Personally, he did what I would've done at that point, but (of course) according to the rules, he made a "bad deal". But, considering, it wasn't that bad.

  • Brandon says:

I only caught "Deal or No Deal" today, and it's pretty much the same show, which is a good thing, compared to the NBC version.

But, speaking of NBC, that version changed its set last year for primetime. How come that version isn't being used for daytime, considering the new episodes started taping in Connecticut this past summer? It almost seems as if two different sets were used for the two versions, which makes no sense.

  • Lirodon says:

Wow, you're about as transparent as well…Obama's government..

Anyway, one more complaint I think some people are also noting, it would be good to at least have some sort of running total during the Bullseye round, may it be a sort of "scoreboard" or getting O'Hurley to be like "and with that your bank is up to $16,000, next question is worth $2,000…blah blah"

  • Jay says:

The graphics *were* cutting age back then. I was in Jr. HS at the time. When they came back from break, he explained that they forced the contestants to not ring in after the clue was given beginning with the 2nd season. I remember that's when things started picking up. Additionally, Alex stopped doing as much commentary as that first episode.

  • Myke25 says:

Oh my god, children! If you want to see primitive, check out clips of the Art Fleming Jeopardy!

    Hey "Friends at Family Feud"-
We love hearing from folks connected to the shows. You have a lot of friends here. Please don't create ill will by having your promotions department respond to every FF take with a "tune in" message. I'm already taking you less seriously now.

  • Nick Todor says:

    They are doing highlights.

Tuesday is Eddie Timanus' final game.
Wednesday and Thursday are KenJen games #74 and #75, respectively.
    Friday is UToC final.

  • Marc says:

They're highlight eps. Here's what each one will be:
Tomorrow: Eddie Timanus's (the blind USA Today sportswriter) 5th win
    Wednesday: Ken Jennings's last win
    Thursday: Nancy Zerg beats Ken
Friday: Grand Final of Ultimate Tournament

  • Jay says:

Myke25: I was WAITING for someone to say something like that! THANK YOU! LOL :)

  • Jay says:

Very true…but, it started in the 60's…so, there ya go.

  • Jay says:

    Thank you, both. :)

  • Jay says:

My guess is that they are using the 'older" set (without the extra lights in the banker section) for the same reason they moved to CT…to save $$$.

  • Family Feud says:

    Cool. we understand.
Just a little excited about the premier of the new season ;-)

  • t c says:

Anybody record MILLIONAIRE or DEAL OR NO DEAL?

    Much apprecaited :D

  • Joe says:

    I only caught Millionaire today.

Pretty basic episode aside from the announcement of the tournament of ten. Though I did like that they carried over the cold open like they did for the anniversary shows. I hope that remains.

  • Scott Hansen says:

    Thank You Jay!!!
I appreciate it very much for the recap; though we can only hope the second episode will be as good as the first! :) sucks the first person pressed his luck too far! :(

  • Jason says:

None of these game shows had an airing in the Canadian market, but I did see Deal or No Deal, but when I watched Millionaire on WLNO, they were still on reruns so I was upset about it.

  • James says:

Jay can you name some examples of families fighting over the winnings? Does it really happen, and has it always happened since the show existed?

I bet they offer them a cash equivalent if they don't want the car. Some shows do that.

  • James says:

…because they played two different games in one. I'm saying if they used the hour for ONE game. Just two families for the whole show, Bullseye + Feud + Fast Money. That might help the pacing if you don't like it, and sadly, what once worked for a half hour in the '70s and '80s would now require an hour to match it now. Thank you ad time!

  • James says:

A note to the FamilyFeud poster…I am glad you are monitoring fan opinions. But if you can join in on the discussions, that would be great too. Just saying "Thanks for watching!" in response to all makes it sound like automated responses. Sometimes we need a bit more to show that our thoughts really matter. We are a nice bunch otherwise though!

  • Jay says:

I disagree. I knew what you were saying…and I still say it would take. As I've mentioned before, I don't like the new format…no matter how long it's on (1/2 hr. or hr.).

  • Jay says:

I complete agree with you on this, James.

  • Matthew says:

I enjoyed watching Deal. I thought someone here said it was suppose to be in HD? As for millionaire and Feud, haven't caught them yet, but home to DVR them!

  • James says:

Thank you. Even if we agree to disagree on the other FF related stuff…this is one thing we are on the same page over.
