Or to put it another way, I hope it will be up there with other million-dollar things like Ted DiBiase and Betty Grable's legs :-) There's just so many obstacles to overcome (Fremantle's track record, "updating" it with mo' money, flaws in contestant "casting"). Whether they are real or overexaggerated by the game show hardcores remains to be seen. As it is, I think it's a little of each. I just hope the Fremantle responsible for CS2001, MG98, and Temptation (Dollars, did we mention they're called Temptation Dollars? Temptation Dollars, Temptation Dollars, Temptation Dollars! Bye, take your lots of love and go!) will be far away from this, and we see more of what we've seen with a decent revamped, rehosted TPIR, and a much improved Family Feud. Being on CBS might help...TPIR is still good, after all. And I may be one of the few with good things to say about Gameshow Marathon, but at least it did a decent job combining pure classic elements with proper updates and bigger budgets. Geez, remember when GS revivals were reasons for celebration? Now we just groan about what is to be. Well at least TV's idea deficiency isn't as bad as that in the movies...right? I know I shouldn't have so much angst over a TV show. But it would be nice to have something good out there, especially with so much junk. I hope this will be OK. But that being said Jonathon would have butchered the shows anyway. remember it was his decision to bring back Richard Dawson for Feud' 94 on the ETHS he said he regrets that decision to this day.
