I'm glad you pointed that out, JK. Who the hell is "Hermit The Frog"? Is he Kermit the Frog's illigitimate son? I sometimes during the show thought that William Shatner stayed in his Denny Crane character.

And you're also right. He should've known how to play Password since he was on the $20k Pyramid (which is sort of a spinoff of Password).

Did anyone notice the show was moved from its usual NYC Base at Kaufman Astoria Studios, to LA this time around ? Anyone know why ? I'm cant imagine that Mr Davies, and Regis Philbin (both NYC based) would be excited about doing the show in LA.

Shatner was bad, but he looked worse than he really was because the two players who started with him were bad too, IMO.

Honestly, I felt bad for William Shatner. He looked genuinely embarrassed about his gameplay, and the mocking from Regis Philbin didn't help matters. I'm curious if, off-tape, Shatner had to be encouraged to keep playing.

At the same time, you also have to wonder how CBS and the show are picking celebrities. There isn't a pool of "strong" celebrity players you could fall back on the way 70s and early 80s shows did, and some celebs may be afraid of embarrassing themselves, or consider it "beneath themselves" to appear on a game or reality show. Did MDP do a run through with Shatner to see if he's "game ready"? Did MDP presume that since he's a TV "legend" with game show appearance that he could be put on the show, no questions asked?

Aisha Tyler, on the other hand, was quite impressive. She's been one of the better celebs since the revival premiered.

Gameplay and production seemed tighter than during the NYC tapings, and some of the post-production edits weren't as obvious as they were over the summer.

Three Words: Hermit. The. Frog.

If Shatner did Pyramid many years ago, he should Damn well know how to play Password.

Other than that, good to see not much has changed. Though did anybody else notice that Regis signed off saying "From Hollywood, everybody..." I didn't know the show changed locations (Which would probably explain the tweaks in set).

Celebrities aside, the game is thankfully a lot smoother now, and a lot of that is due to Regis's much improved hosting skills. As for the money ladder, it's great to have that second safety net at $250K, but if it was up to me, that second safety would have been at the $100K level. As for tonight's celebrities, I gotta say that they were lots of fun to watch. The Shatner rounds were very painful, but they were also very entertaining, and Aisha was just spewing out cash like an ATM, she did awesome. I still can't believe that she and the SF guy only missed two words out of all 4 levels of the money game, now that's impressive teamwork.

A good start despite the fact that William Shatner did a poor job (I should give him a pass since this is his first time on Password. If I'm wrong, someone feel free to correct me). Aisha, on the other hand, did quite well although she was hesitating a lot while giving responses (which is ok because it's better to give a good response than a dumb one). IYAM, Season 2 will be better than Season 1.

Not a bad first episode despite the fact that William Shatner did a very poor job (I should give him a pass since this is assumingly his first time on Password). On the other hand, Aisha did excellent although at time she did look dumbfounded when she gave a response, which is ok because I rather give a good response than a stupid one. IYAM, Season 2 will be a lot better than the first.

I just watched the episode, and was quite pleased. It seemed a lot smoother. Since it's a new season, I guess they didn't need to explain the rules 1-by-1 (e.g. they went through the money ladder a little quicker).

I actually like that there are now two safety amounts. True, $250,000 as a safety amount, is high. But, since they only have 6 rungs of the ladder, there isn't much room to work with.

As for the episode itself, William Shatner did quite poorly...especially against Aisha Tyler (who, if memory serves, did quite well last season). I remember seeing him on other game shows...and, I think he did just as well. Also, his personality leaves a lot to be desired.

Going back to the show, in general, I like it. I had a problem with Regis getting in the way of the show, last season. I am happy to say that I did not see that tonight.

All-in-all...I think it's a good improvement.

Looks like they gave the set a nice touch-up as well. Lots of blue incorporated with the red and black. Can't wait!
