I don't think any deal has been officially announced....some poker Web sites are reporting there will be a deal with MyNet, but nothing has been confirmed.

If such a deal is true, it's possible the deal is not with the network itself, but with some of its stronger affiliate stations (WWOR in New York, for instance) to air the show in prime time on Saturday or Sunday night -- days MNT does not program. We're starting to see a slow return to first-run, high-publicity weekend syndicated fare to TV -- Legend of the Seeker and Brian McKnight's talk show are good examples -- and a number of MNT affiliates air both. Perhaps Shuffle Up and Deal will join them.

My Network TV? Seriously? Has it come to this? (I use that too much these days) Unrelated to the story can someone tell me why do they call themselves My Network TV when they're not a network anymore? As for the game itself, seeing as it might not last long, My Programming Service TV is the perfect net....uh, programming service for the show.

Even if they did clear a "network" if I use that loosely with MyNet TV, I still won't wanna see it even if I do understand Texas Hold'Em. It's when they throw those darn "percentages" in there that turns me off.

Now it's reported that the show will show up on MyNetwork TV. Since when did that network (I'm sorry...programming service) start planning new shows again? I thought they only played syndicated reruns, the occasional magic special and WWE Smackdown.

In this show, you are 'choosing your own fate' so to speak, rather than having the randomness of the dealer. You pick your 'hole' cards from the board, then everyone gets a pick of another card to fill in the flop, turn and river. Mix in some betting and other twists and turns, and you've got a game show for the average joe.
