LIVE CHAT: “Minute to Win It” Debuts Tonight at 7:00PM ET on NBC

Just a small reminder for everyone that NBC’s newest game show, Minute to Win It, will debut tonight at 7:00PM ET.  We’ve gone over every conceivable opinion of the show that I have, so no point getting into that.  Instead, be sure to tell me what you think and if nothing else we may get more incognito NBC people commenting.  Like it?  Hate it?  In between?  Think it’s a huge The Cube copy? Leave your comments during the show (or after of course) and let the world know.  Feel free to post spoilers, so read during the show at your own risk.

From what I see of "M2W" it's basically "The Cube" with more MacGyveristic Tendencies to it.

Ugg. It's so bad. Even the things they do right, they get the tone wrong for.

I think as soon as they locked themselves in to the concept of "complete a game in 60 seconds", it was all downhill from there.

Personally, I thought it was very fun to watch. I thought the games were pretty creative, and I have to say the Guy wasn't as bad as he looked in the previews. I hope this show does well. ^_^

  • I caught the first episode…and from what I viewed, it wasn't all too bad. The only thing that didn't set well with me, was the overt serious vibe of such a silly game. When I watched The Cube, that was a fine example of taking something simplistic and making it tense, all around. Minute to Win It wasn't terrible, I just felt that for how much of a spectacle it appeared to be, it should have taken itself about half as seriously. Otherwise, not bad for nothing on. Guy wasn't all that obnoxious either…which was probably the most surprising thing about the entire show by far.

Umm, I liked this show when Mark Goodson created it and called it "Beat the Clock". Sure, they didn't have swirly lights…flashy production…some chef hosting the show…or a million-dollar prize budget. But at least it was watchable for many years. This is just ridiculous, bring on The Cube.

Guy Fiere belongs in the kitchen. He SUCKS as a game show host. Annoying as hell. The overly-hyped up contestants have become stale since Deal's third season. The side talking from Guy is not necessary. It reminds me of Gordon Ramsey's Kitchen Nightmares when he's talking how f'd up the restaurants are. Bad choice of host. NBC is on a role this year of f'ing up a lot of their shows.

The show wasn't that bad. Guy still has some work, but the games are just flat-out fun to play at home. I have more problems with post-production value than actual live-play value (those damn commercial breakaways!)

The show is just fun. And, I saw someone in the chat room that compared this show by saying "Hole in the Wall > Minute to Win It." That's just sad and, well, just sad.

Regis pretty much said on Live! this morning that NBC is putting this 'simple' show on , yet ABC cant put Millionaire on Sunday nights. He's right. Its a really silly show, Millionaire could have killed this.

CBS should still greenlight The Cube. Yes, they are similar, but different enough to not compete directly with each other. There is precedent for two similar shows both being successful ("Don't forget the Lyrics" and "The Singing Bee").

Personally, I could see M2WI working better as a 30 minute syndie show, cutting out all the annoying "We Challenge You, America!" segments, and focusing on the games themselves, a la syndie DoND.

Okay, I'm surprised that I'm the first one (correct me if I'm wrong) to notice that the 'round-the-floor clock looks exactly like the one used in the bonus round of Russian Roulette.

    I noticed that too.

  • Saddened Fan says:

In my opinion, the games are very fun, but there's too much filler in between moments. The "We Challenge You, America!" segments are completely unnecessary. I didn't think Guy was annoying as much as people say he is, although they could have chosen a more appropriate host.
