“Let’s Play Crosswords” Name Change
Merv Griffin and Program Partners, your work is great, but please for the sake of all that is good and holy change your name. Let’s Play Crosswords has changed its name to Let’s Do Crosswords. Yeah, this one isn’t really any better. I know we did this before, but any suggestions? Someone said CrossFire before, and I really enjoyed that one.

i would much rather “play” crosswords than “do” them…
but how about just the name “Crosswords”
Wait! I’ve got it…………….this name is perfect…………
……
SHOW….ME….THE…………CROSSWORDS! Can you feel it?! CAN YOU FEEL IT?!! :p
Seriously, Merv & Co. should just settle on LPC or just “Crosswords.”
I’m still thinking Crossword Challenge would be a better title. Let’s Do Crosswords sounds more like Let’s do Lunch.
Wikipedia: “Crossfire was a current events debate television program that aired from 1982 to 2005 on CNN. Its format was designed to present a discourse between a politically liberal speaker and a conservative speaker.”
And there’s the whole Jon Stewart incident. So, no.
The fact that there was a CNN show means nothing, Jon Stewart or not. There’s been several TV shows that had the same title. Granted “Crossfire” might be the most successful example, CNN can’t stop someone from using the title.
Maybe “Cross-Wits” perhaps?
No, that title was already used.
Both Crossfire and Crossword Challenge sound like winners to me. They’re much bettere than Let’s Do / Play Crosswords, a title that sounds like it needs some serious overhauling. The All-New Cross-Wits wouldn’t be a bad idea either.
hmmm….how about the computer game it probably will be based on Just lose Pat Sajak’s name? “Lucky Letters”
Whatever the gameshow is called this ‘Crosswords’ may be combination of “Lucky Letters”, “Trivia Jems”, “Scrabble”, and “Cross-Wits” all into one gameshow.
i always watch current events on TV and also read newspapers daily to keep myself updated:`;
