“Let’s Make A Deal” Showcases Bloopers and Updated Set on YouTube
With the massive success Family Feud is having on YouTube, another Fremantle game show is taking the leap to social networking. CBS’s daytime game show, Let’s Make A Deal, is showing a larger online presence for its upcoming third season. Their YouTube page will feature funny moments and bloopers you may not see on television. They’re also already displaying their updated set for the new season.
The first very noticeable thing is that the set is much darker. It’s nearly at current Millionaire darkness levels. There’s also a new trading floor, dividing walls from the traders to the floor with lights, and lots of new lighting effects everywhere. There’s also now, at least some of the time, a DJ or musician there to provide some live music for Wayne Brady and Jonathan Mangum to interact with. They’re both used to that from their improv shows so smart thinking on their part bringing it in. The set and changes look very nice. It was just shocking, at first, to see them. Take a look.

The set looks very nice, and the DJ seems to be a good addition. I just hope this means they’ll shoot in HD now. I’d love to see how the set will look when Wayne looks for traders in the audience and how the lighting will change then.
I wonder if they have changed the big doors as well.
I’m sick of dark sets. That’s why I liked the original set, it was perfect for the dynamic. Same with that wall thing. I can see it for the Big Deal of the Day. With everything else, it just clutters up the shot in my eyes.
With all of that, the addition of a DJ and the social media aspect by LMAD is awesome!
Btw, did anybody else think of Inquizition when they saw that music guy? ha!
Man, Wayne Shaved!
At first, I thought they hired a new host…
I thought so too, but I guess Wayne was challenging his inner Steve Harvey in the clips.
don’t mind the dark…i like the wall…now if they really wanted to do it right, they’d divide the back audience from the trading floor like they did on Monty’s version.
The center ring is a little odd, ill have to see it in play to judge.
otherwise pretty good job.
Glenn, it looks like your prayer has been answered. It looks like they did split the audience into two sections.
I would have loved to see Laura Haul from Whose Line do the musical sections for the show. It would be great to see her again.
Now they update the set & hired the DJ, they have to go in High-Def, they have too. Almost every CBS shows now in HD, even 4am CBS Morning News is in HD.
And seeing the audience goes dark it like they taping for primetime, maybe they should called this “Let’s Make a Deal Million Dollar Spectacular” XD.
I’m not a huge fan of LMaD anyway, but I do have to say that the dark set doesn’t fit. Don’t really have a strong opinion one way or the other on the DJ/keyboardist addition – it works for this show, I suppose. But I hope we don’t see TPiR head in this direction.
I’m not at ALL fond to the new darkness in the audience ’cause A. You can’t see what the audience is wearing and B. It makes you feel like an America’s Got Talent reject. I don’t know what HORSE-mantle was think with that decision.
and who says white man can’t rap?
