“Let’s Make A Deal” Pilot Now Casting

Fun news from yesterday afternoon: the CBS daytime pilot for Let’s Make A Deal is now casting.  If you’re in the LA area in early July with a costume handy, click here to take part.  They’ve got some good hosts lined up for you. Really good hosts.

Do you mind telling us who said hosts are? :)

  • Steve says:

I was all set to do it… but there's no money involved if the show isn't actually going to air, right? The whole point of LMAD is getting a great deal and actually walking away with it. Or am I missing something?

  • Craig says:

It looks like CBS' committed to LMaD as well as Pyramid. That reminds me, what's up with The Dating Game they were considering?

  • DeVares says:

I'm thinking this, whichever show doesn't make it to CBS (which right now looks like it's The Dating Game), it could be a prime candidate for the fall 2010 season.

  • Craiggers says:

Or it could wind up on a cable net, like GSN or something like that…

  • Craig says:

You might be right about that my namesake friend. Pairing it up with The Newlywed Game seems to make sense for GSN anyways.

  • AndyG says:

They are supposedly shooting the Dating Game Pilot on July 14th, in New York.

  • Jimme B. says:

Has been there any reports of a Press Your Luck revival? i like that game show along with my step-father. With the new version that was on GSN in 2001 and 2002, i liked the idea of Big Bank (an actual chance to whammy the whammy). I know some people my not like this, but Todd Newton did an ok job as host and in defense, it is never easy for a person to replace a legend (when Newton followed Tomarken), it's just like Ron Zook trying to replace Steve Spurrier at the University of Florida in collegiate football! I'm hopeful CBS will consider the idea of a PYL revival.

  • Craig says:

The only way that's gonna happen is if the Bold & the Beautiful gets the plug pulled. Right now, we simply need to let CBS give us a chance at Pyramid/LMaD & or The Dating Game. We'll see what happens at that point.

  • DeVares says:

It would be nice. But if B&B gets the plug pulled on them (which might not happen anytime soon since it's the #2 soap opera only behind the Young & the Restless), CBS would just give that time to affiliates, possibly to expand their newscasts. The only option would be if they cancel As the World Turns.

  • Jake says:

Costumes are OPTIONAL?! That doesn't sound right.

Anyway, this sounds exciting; hooray for Tivo!

  • Craig says:

Back in 1963, LMAD started out just like any other game show with ladies in blouses & gentlemen in busness suits. Once somebody started wearing a costume just to sse if Monty noticed, before you know it, costumes was standard dressware on the show. To me, costumes & Monty's acts are what made LMAD what it was & soon will be again
