“Let’s Make A Deal” Officially Renewed; Tapes in July
It was rumored a few weeks ago that Let’s Make A Deal, hosted by Wayne Brady on CBS daytime, was being renewed. The
main piece of information came from Wayne Brady’s Facebook, but that information was no where to be found so who knew. It can now be confirmed that, yes, Let’s Make A Deal, along with Wayne, will be returning to the CBS daytime lineup Fall 2010 for a second season. No word if announcer Jonathan Mangum or Tiffany Coyne will return but I highly doubt we won’t see them showing up as well.
The renewal of Let’s Make A Deal is no big surprise given the ratings. They haven’t skyrocketed since replacing the soap opera Guiding Light, but there has been a very noticeable increase…not to mention the show is far cheaper now. The last ratings release came in February. The ratings then were up 12% year-to-date with 2.42 million viewers total. The demographic CBS is looking for, the women 18-49 demo, Deal grew by 20%. And for the second time, the show’s pretty cheap.
Audience tickets are now going out for the new season. The show will resume taping in Los Angeles as it did the first half of the season. Let’s Make A Deal taped the first few months of its life in Las Vegas before moving. The show’s second season will be based in Sunset Bronson Studios the entire time, it seems. The second season will begin taping in July. If you are in the Los Angeles area, want to dress up in a crazy costume, and potentially be on the show, click here.

This is excellent news, I have been enjoying this new version since day one and I am glad that it is getting renewed. I also hope that pyramid gets picked up as well. Has there been any new information about it getting picked up?
I honestly can't say it was a surprise. This show's been great so far. ^_^
Good move by CBS; this is a solid show. Now if only they can figure out what their picks are for their two new shows are, then they’ll be in even better shape.
Very good move by the Eye. Now, if only they can pick up Pyramid.
Gotta get past Julie Chen and Emeril now. The boss's wife is hard to get past. Julie was probably in high school when Dick Clark hosted his last Pyramid 22 years ago.
^5 on that one.
I guess LMAD Season 2 won't tape in Las Vegas anymore.
But if Rich Fields leaves TPIR, would Johnathan Magnum make a good TPIR announcer replacement?
WE WANT PYRAMID!
I heard one of the reasons they moved taping from Las Vegas to LA was because the Tropicana was undergoing renovations. Are they moving back to Las Vegas soon or just staying in their LA digs?
Make that plus infinity.
I don't think so. I think they will just stay in LA. Probably since it is easier to find studio space or it is just a lot cheaper to tape there IMO!!!!!
Nice to see Wayne Brady back in such a great show. I don’t understand why he is not everywhere and in everything this guy is amazing I have been a fan of his since “Whose Line Is It Anyways”, he is very talented and charismatic!
My daughter and I love the show and she always gets upset when its over an hour is not enough for her!
I hope the show gets renew many more times and that Wayne gets more Deals on TV or Movies!
GL’s ratings were terrible…it was #8 out of 8 soap operas. So 15 or 20% higher than that is still really low, and LMAD would still trail all the other soaps that GL did. It’s just cheap, that’s all. Do you really think this will last 70+ yrs? I don’t think so. The nets don’t care about their customers anymore — their viewers, especially ones not in the “prized” younger demos (like people suddenly stop purchasting when they turn 50) — they only care about thier bottom line, and about rewarding thier high-ranking execs obscene bonuses.
I like having some game show on television in the mornings. Not all people work, and some would like entertainment besides the dreaded and sad and sorry , repeated news. Famliy Fued is not on for some reason and that was on at 9:00 in the morning , followed by the millionaire. Why??? The shows were good and entertaining and just fun to watch. Some channels have changed and cancelled so many show and replace them with just plain stupid reality show…. Like Hollywood Hills with a bunch of complaining loosers. Then you have a selection of Real Housewife shows. Just terrible-terrible!
I love Without a Trace, The Target, suspence but some humor in them. Just not good at all. I know a few new ones coming on, and I am sure some of them will bum out. Good luck, maybe if you try picking up some of the good reject shows your channel will surpass all the others.. Put some game shows back, less housewife life, judges and court cases, and the news is just over the top. Good luck you will need it.
