Ken Jennings Headlines GSN Live’s New Segment “Stump the Master”

GSN Live has a new way for viewers to interact with game show giants, as well as a new way to earn thousands of dollars in cash and prizes.  Starting on Friday, October 31st, GSN Live introduces “Stump the Master” with Ken Jennings.  Each week, viewers at home can submit questions they think will stump Ken Jennings by visiting GSN Live‘s website.  Four categories will be presented.  Ken selects one of them to go against the home viewer.

If the home viewer who submitted that question is able to Stump the Master and beat Ken, the player wins $1,000 plus a prize.  Not only that, after the first time Ken is stumped, the jackpot comes into play where each question Ken answers correctly adds $1,000 to the total prize.  So there’s lots of money available to be won.  Hey, you have a better chance of winning here than on Trivial Pursuit at least.

“Ever since my ‘Jeopardy!’ appearance, people really enjoy trying to stump me with trivia questions every time I walk my dog or go to the grocery store. Inviting viewers to do the same on GSN Live seemed like it would be even more fun,” said Jennings. “I look forward to wrestling with the toughest trivia questions that America’s smartest smarty-pants can devise.”

Edit:  Please do not post questions here.  We are not part of GSN Live.  You need to submit questions to GSN only.  Thank you.

He was on “Are You Smarter than a 5th Grader?” and was 11/11 (dropped out at the MDQ)

I think this would be intriguing, but I have to think about a few things…

    1. Will GSN Live last? (It could end up going the way of PLAYMANIA, when they have contests)

    2. Does Ken Jennings need MORE publicity? I mean, he has a board game, a spelling bee, and crossword puzzles all to his name. If at all, I think we should bring back “Win Ben Stein’s Money” with Ken Jennings.

    3. The “growing jackpot” will end up being like the Lingo Jackpot, where it will never go unclaimed, until when the producers give up.

That being said, I will LOVE this segment, it sounds great, and I believe this will bring in more people to watch GSN Live.

I see jsut one problem, the prodcers are gonna have to set some sort of boundary n the questions for instance, no one would know “what’s the 1,266th word in War and Peace”

and FYI, If anyone uses that and wins I expect a cut of this money thank you very much.

  • Jay Temple says:

I expect the producers to pick worthwhile questions. (The 1,266th word is note one.) The other thing I HOPE they’ll do is to verify the questions as if they were written in-house. GSN doesn’t need the bad publicity from a disgruntled contestant who has his own facts wrong.

It’s like their coping Win Ben Steins Money!!! But i’m still going to do it because I would reall like 1,000!!!

Not a bad idea for a game show. They should make it a’la Win Ben Stein’s money where contestants compete against each other, then the winner tries to stomp Ken Jennings in the endgame. Sounds crazy I know, but I think SKJ on GSN Live will work the same.

what do you call a tailor who alters off the rack clothing to custom fit a customer

I hate GSN LIVE. I don't like it when it interrupts the show I'm watching. If it has to be on, have a special time for it, so people have a choice, if they don't want to watch it.
