ITV2 Lands Revamped “Minute to Win It”

The future of the American version of Minute to Win It is in limbo, but its international presence is still known.  ITV2 has announced it is casting for their own version of NBC’s cult stunt show.  It becomes confusing when you remember that ITV airs The Cube, which Minute to Win It takes from directly just without literally everything that makes The Cube great.  ITV2 is doing the smart thing and revamping the show for its own version.

Specifics aren’t known, but the new version will involve two teams of five competing alongside celebrities.  They’ll still do various challenges in a minute in an attempt to win some big money.  Industry insiders from the same source are saying the show is extremely revamped and they basically just paid for the rights to the name.  That makes sense.  They’ve already got The Cube doing well.  Airing Minute as-is would open the flood gates to complaints of cheap ripoff.  Much like, despite our enjoyment, if a major network in America picked up The Cube there would be many complaints of ripoff as well.

ITV2′s Minute to Win It is taking teams of five of people over the age of 18.  If you’re in the United Kingdom and want to compete, click here to check out the casting notice and apply.

Not even close. Less than 1% of Americans know about a British game show.

I believe, as written, I said that if The Cube was picked up by a major network in America it would be written off as a ripoff.

That wouldn’t stop some from crying “ripoff”, not knowing the truth of the matter.

And I fancy that more than one per cent of the population knows of a show that is derived form a UK game show–even if they don’t know that it was. Surely the people still remember “Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?”.

It’s not a Pointless Answer–although it might get you a refreshingly low score at that!
