Extra is floating around rumors that Rosie O’Donnell, currently one of the hosts of ABC’s talk show “The View”, could be a contender to take over Bob Barker’s role as host of the 36th season of “The Price is Right”. It’s also been nearly confirmed that her character from the best drama on TV, Nip/Tuck, will be back in some way; whether it’s the new leading female or a spinoff show. However, Rosie has already voiced she is not leaving “The View” for Nip/Tuck, as it tapes during “The View”’s break. What could this mean for “The Price is Right”? David Price hosts three test episodes of the show tonight to see if he could be the newest host.

OK. Rosie on ‘Price’ will never work out. Reason being is that she will get rid of Hole in One. If you remember when Bob Barker came on to her talk show, she was telling him that she does not like the Hole in One game. Another thing is that even when the contestant loses their pricing game, she will feel real bad and give them the prize anyway. No way.
We REALLY need to get a petition going to get Todd Newton to be the new host.

While I have no real problems with Rosie as an entertainer or person, she SHOULD NOT be the host TPIR. Hosting a game show is not her kind of bit at all, and I foresee a debacle like that of Ricki on GSM.
You get going on the Todd Newton petition Donald, and I’ll work on getting that Marc Summers petition going… ;)

TPiR should NOT go with Rosie. They should go with Todd Newton, and I hope CBS stations give him a chance.

I would take this as I would take any and all rumors…
With the proverbial grain of salt, thank you.
Thankfully, we shouldn’t count on her hosting TPIR!

I’ll sign the Todd Newton petition! I saw him host the stage show twice and think that this should be his time and his break! However, if Rosie was to
do The Price is Right (even a test episdoe), then I would like to see Barbara Walters model….
A BRAND NEW CAR!!!!!!!

I was talking to a friend of mine tonight, and we shared what we thought was a decent idea. But it’s a matter of contract issues as well I’m sure.. What about John O’Hurley?

John O Hurley would be an interesting choice although I gotta go with Todd Newton for my vote for the Price Is Right. Todd Newton I think would do real well with the college crowd not saying that John O Hurley would. im not sure if John O Hurley would do Price Is Right while hosting Family Feud but I would take John O Hurley over Rosie O Donnell to do the price is right.

I’ll sign the Todd and Marc petitions. If there’s a god, Rosie will get no where near the big wheel.

Todd Newton… no thanks. He’d ruin TPIR just like he ruined Press Your Luck. I don’t get why so many people think he’s the second coming of Bill Cullen… he overpowers any format he touches with his caustic bravado and so-called sense of humor. Frankly, I’d take Dave Price over Newton. And besides, a petition signed by 500 fanboys on Newton’s behalf will have less sway on Fremantle/CBS’ decision than the shrill barking of Les Moonves’ chihuahua.
But don’t worry; Rosie ain’t gettin’ this gig.

I like Rosie, but she’s not game show host material. Funny how people started Todd and Marc petitions, because I started a Rich petition

Going back to Todd Newton, I guess he would be an alright candidaate. But I just can’t help the feeling that when I see him holding the mic, I’ll get a flashback of Doug Davidson (1994 TPIR) and his not-so-good hosting. I say not-so-good because I’ve seen worse. Remember Blake from Chain Reaction? *cringe*

PRICE IS RIGHT SHOW AND BOB BARKER HAS BEEN A LEGEND.
THE BEST THING IS TO CANCEL THE SHOW,IF YOU CAN’T DO ANY BETTER THAN ROSIE.
WHY WOULD CBS OR ANY OTHER STATION WANT SUCH A SLOB?

Didn’t Bob Barker himself, endorse ODonnell?

I know that Mr. Barker was in a different war than I, but having Rosie hosting TPIR would be ONLY worse if it was Jane Fonda, or in his time: Tokyo Rose. True we fought for her right to express herself, but what happened to family shows & self respect/values.
Rest assure, if she is allowed to host this great program, I, among many, many, many others WILL not be watching the program or even want to go to it in person.
Having a woman is a great idea = NOT ROSIE !!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank God this isn’t a ballgame & she might grab her crotch; ie: Roseanne Barr in San Diego . . .
