iRichFields Pocket Announcer App Released
If you’re a big game show fan you’re bound to have been in a scenario where having your own personal announcer would have been fun. Luckily the voice behind The Price is Right, Rich Fields, has a brand new app available for the iPhone (or iPod Touch) that can help you out. It’s called iRichFields, and it is your own personal announcer in your pocket.
You can have the caricatured Rich Fields say a variety of different phrases. They range from the generic The Price is Right quotes like cars and trips to Hawaii to excitement over pie and wanting a beer. There’s even a bit of Seinfeld put in there with what is still my favorite: “I’m a day person!” It’s a weird app for sure, but you’d be really stunned at how funny, popular, and sarcastically useful it is. People are used to me being a smartass; it’s the business plan…the cornerstone. Having Rich being able to tell someone sarcastically, “Ooh, that’s nice,” always gets a laugh. Plus I’d be selling you short if I didn’t mention that it’s free so really there’s no reason not to get it if you’re a fan. It’s a nice, fun app that gets a good laugh when it’s used. Definitely check it out.
Rich also released a new quiz app called The Television Trivia Test. It’s what it sounds like. Answer some trivia questions about various classic television shows and build up your score. The better you do the higher up on the online leaderboard you’ll get. There’s a limited edition of the game for free which is nice. For $1.99, though, you get a greatly expanded version with 700 television trivia questions, so it’s something any television trivia buff can enjoy. As with the last it’s a fun app and for the price there’s no reason not to take a peak.

Rich Fields sure has been busy, hasn't he?
He's becoming the hardest-working announcer in the game show biz, it looks like. Even harder working than Johnny Olson!
It's about damn time a game show announcer actually did something to increase his prominence. These people have been unknowns and "unsung heroes" for far too long!

You can say that again. With his seemingly increasing popularity, maybe future announcers will get the credit they deserve.
