Intense Mother’s Day Edition of “The Price is Right”

Today, The Price is Right had a special Mother’s Day edition.  It was another of their popular couple’s shows, where mothers and the children played together.  The show typically puts out their best and most exciting episodes during these specials, and today was no exception.  In particular, the game Cover Up was a nail biter.  Contestants have been getting painfully close to coming in the $250 range and winning both showcases.  Many of them have ended up in very painful overbids, though.  Only one person has won the top prize this season.  Today was one of the close days.  Did we have a Double Showcase Winner, or a brutal overbid?  Check out a highlight reel below.

That's the way it should be played … make it a series of 50/50 decisions instead of trying to pick the 1-out-of-5 final column in one chance.

That was an exciting Cover Up win. You don't see those too often because it's usually won or lost in 2 or 3 shots. Here, the maxinum of 5(?) tries is used. I wouldn't mind seeing that more often.

And that Showcase overbid, OUCH! They were within $250, but in the OPPOSITE direction. We could've used a DSW now after we had the 11th DOB this season(is that a record?).

I'm not sure it's *ever* been won like that. :)

How many WSD's is that this season? Seems like 8 or 9 to me.

They just got lucky… they didn't seem to be trying to do it that way IMO. If I was playing that game, I'd make sure I guessed as many duplicate numbers as possible in different positions… they won't all be right but chances are one would be.

For example in this game my first guess would have been 2-8-2-2-2. First one is right, second is most certainly wrong, and out of the others, maybe I get one right or if not I eliminate some of the possibilities for later.

Not exactly 1 right. If it were 2-8-2-2-2, you would have first and forth digits correct, two digits BTW.
