Imagination Games Receives License for “Millionaire” DVD

Imagination Games, who released the not-too-shabby Deal or No Deal and Family Feud DVD games, has announced they have been awarded the license to exclusively create the Who Wants to be a Millionaire? DVD game in a three-year deal.  Currently, the game is projected to debut in Fall 2007 and retail for $19.99.  The game will be hosted by current Who Wants to be a Millionaire? host Meredith Vieira.  To the right is what the box art is looking like as of now.  I’m a big Millionaire fan, so the more games the merrier.  How long has it been since we’ve had a quality Millionaire game anyway (not counting that plug-and-play game).  The only thing that I hope gets fixed is the “3 Lifelines” thing that’s on the current box art.  Having Switch the Question wouldn’t be bad, but it’s not enough of a reason to bitch and moan.  Be sure to pick it up when it comes out.

“Having Switch the Question wouldn’t be bad, but it’s not enough of a reason to bitch and moan.”

Don’t sell yourself short, you’ll find a way to bitch and moan anyway.

    (just kidding)

lol, oh you’re right, I generally do. If they create a solid game sans STQ, I’d be extremely happy still, though.

    Don’t worry abou tit.

With the 16-bit graphics and sound to match, you’re not missing out. (Although, my family really does enjoy the game :-)

I won’t buy Imagination’s DVD games after two copies of DoND crapped out in my *new* DVD player…

Haven’t been big on the DVD games, but I might check into it. Speaking of which, Alex, would you happen to know if the official show’s site ever plans to add a Switch lifeline to the online game? It took them about a year, if not more, to change the money tree (it debuted in fall 04, not added online until around 2005 or 06), but it would be nice to see the 4th lifeline…

btw, what happened to Endless Games’ Match Game DVD game? It was shown on TPiR months ago as a prize but I have not seen it in a single store. And also, what of those rumours about Press Your Luck recieveing the DVD treatment…?

    To The Above Anonymous:

Match Game DVD did not release due to a breach in contract between Fremantle and Endless Games.

With The Same at the end of “Press Your Luck” though you can find a copy of it on Ebay:

But Reviews Suggest that both games “aren’t good” SAVE YOUR MONEY!

As For Millionaire The DVD versions in Germany and UK are pretty cool for graphics, i am sure, if they follow their formula, it will be a MUST-BUY!

I don’t think Switch the Question would be too hard to do, programming-wise. The key will be keeping track of lifelines. If they can do that, then it’s pretty much cake for the rest of the build.

I thought the Endless Match Game DVD game would be released this Summer 2007!

And are the eBay copies of the Press Your Luck DVD game test prototypes or something like that?

Also: Imagination also has released a Let’s Make a Deal DVD game.

Finally: I hope by the end of 2007 and the start 2008 we see DVD games of 1 VS. 100, Jeopardy!, Wheel of Fortune, and/or Are You Smarter Than a 5th. Grader released. And what are the chances to see DVD games of classic game shows Hollywood Squares, Joker’s Wild, Tic Tac Dough, Concentration, The Gong Show, Lingo, and/or Temptation/Sale of the Century?

What in the hell would a DVD game of “The Gong Show” do?

Maybe it allows you to be a judge. If the act is good and you gong it, you lose points. If the act is bad and you don’t gong it, then something must be wrong with you.

I have the LMAD DVD game, and it’s not that good. Most of the games are the same over and over again.

I forgot to mention Imagination also made a Name That Tune DVD Game.

Jeopardy! has a DVD game that is out now. It comes with wireless buzzers which is pretty cool. I’m not sure about the others though…
