Howie Mandel Casting for New Game Show “He Said She Said”
A few months back there was word that Howie Mandel was casting for a TV adaptation of the board game Battle of the Sexes. It looks like it’s finally coming to fruition, apparently without the board game tie-in. The show is now called He Said She Said and it’s created/executive produced by Howie and Don’t Forget the Lyrics! producer Jeff Apploff. The description of the show is contestants of the opposite sex have to answer edgy polling questions and the winners get some gender specific prize, like a fishing trip for men or a spa weekend for the ladies. Pretty standard show.
It’s not fully known if this is a pilot or a series, but it’s looking for contestants regardless. They are looking for obviously outgoing people, opinionated, witty, funny, and most amusingly people who are “not afraid to throw each other under the bus in a friendly way.” I always have a smile on my face when I verbally screw someone. Of course you need to be good looking also. That’s not from me, that’s the casting info. Sorry, it’s just the way things work. Having a sob story like being the poor college kid won’t hurt either. Click here if you fit the mold. You need to be available in the Los Angeles area. Again, it’s just the way things work. You really can’t get on any show without meeting these.
Howie has a deal with NBC to do scripted and nonscripted stuff with them, and the casting notice backs this up. It’s not really known if this is specifically for the network or if it’s through their production arm. I figure it’s the latter and being shipped off somewhere else, like a GSN style network who worships Howie right now. Casting takes place this week so get on it if you want in. We’ll keep you posted on updates.

It's like Deja Vu, like we've seen this before… hmmmm where have we seen a show like this before… OH! That's right. SEX WARS!

My exact thought. They posted sex wars on hulu, but watching the first episode it looks like they left out the graphics with the questions and choices. Whoops.
They really didn't give any prizes away on Sex Wars. Did they?

Wasn't there a game show back in the 60's called "He Said She Said"?
Oh yeah, that's right. It was hosted by Joe Garagiola, and was precursor to the game show classic, "TattleTales"!

That is correct, ny friend. He Said, She Said was a celebrity show much like what Tattletales was in the 70's. I guess we can rue this new take on it out as a remake because the casting calls for civilians.
As far as Sex Wars goes, the only thing that was considered a "prize" was a freaking FIFTY DOLLARS! And…if that wasn't bad enough, that value was put on the bottom half of the screen! Talk about an eyesore there.

So let me get this straight:
a vast majority of posts from other threads scream for remakes for everything from Go to Whew, but anytime there seems to be a new show, how many are crying foul because it's "this has been done before".
hmm…and why are the networks giving us the slop that they are–because we can't be consistant with what we say we want.
I could see this show on GSN paired with Newlywed Game, but I'm also curious if NBC and Mandel are considering this for syndication to replace DoND.
Ethan said, It’s like Deja Vu, like we’ve seen this before… hmmmm where have we seen a show like this before… OH! That’s right. SEX WARS!
@ Ethan: We’ve seen it lots of times before. The Better Sex, Bruce Forsyth’s Hot Streak, Family Feud (ex-husbands vs. ex-wives week), and, most recently, the GSN revival of Chain Reaction.
But, if NBC plays it cards right, this could either be a good pairing or a replacement for Deal or No Deal. If Mandel is hosting (Alex didn’t explained whether he will or won’t), then say bye bye to Deal or No Deal. If he’s just behind the scenes or the show ends up on NBC, then, we will see.

What are the odds that the show's catchphrase'll be "That's what she said!?"

We could learn a thing or two from Japan about game show content that isn't expected…

I hope this won't be as dirty as Carnie's Newlywed Game, that show is a disgrace!
