History Picks Up Antiques Game Show “Real Deal”
A new game show based in the world of antiques is coming soon. History has picked up the international format Real Deal for a Winter run. The show mixes the world of antiques with shows like Deal or No Deal. Amateur antique sellers try to test their skills against professional buyers and get the most money they can for their items. Sellers can take a “Deal” and take the cash offered, whether that be a good or bad value for what they were selling, or they can “No Deal” and take the item to auction hoping to earn more than the seller was offering. History has picked up ten half hour episodes which will begin airing Friday, November 25th, at 9:00PM ET.
Here’s a clip of the show. What do you think? Is this something you’d watch?

It’s going to be interesting to say the least, however, what I’m concerned with is that who’s the host for this show? The reasons why Bargain Hunt and the show that this is based off of, Dickinson’s Real Deal is that the hosts were perfect, knew the antiques field and had this weird charisma that was perfect for those shows. If they get the wrong host for this show, then we’re in for a long, long stretch in November & December for new shows.
Looks like an interesting show. I have seen Bargain Hunt on HGTV and BBC America, it was an interesting show and I will be definitely watching this. Surprised that she got a better offer at auction for the Ocarina than what the appraiser was giving her. Smart move by her to go to auction.
Looks pretty interesting, for a channel that has never broadcasted any (known) game show before.
